File Comparison

It may seem a silly question but just what criteria does compare file use? I've two identically named files one with a modified date of ‎26 ‎April ‎2014, ‏‎18:33:45 and with a file size of 724,034,560 bytes the other with with a modified date of ‎‎16 ‎May ‎2014, ‏‎10:51:42 and with a file size of 744,604,672 bytes but when I do a "compare folders select duplicates" these along other files with duplicated names but differing dates and file size are are highlighted as being duplicates I can't believe it's just comparing the file name or have I missed something blindingly obvious??

No, it only compare based on file name for selection.

Unbelievable so it doesn't compare files at all it just checks for duplicate names!!!!

Never had a need for it.
Also everything takes times to develop and there been more important things to add. But something like that are on the list.

Thanks for the response Mathias I really love the program but not being able to compare files for duplication by optional parameters such as date or file size leaves me cold.
