First you select multiple files then you tell tell it to delete them..

There are MANY ways
You can drag out a selection rect to select all files/folder under it..
You can shift/ctrl click to toggle selection
You can right click on item (If you run Commander styled setup)
You can Use Space or insert key to select.
If CheckBoxes are enable you can click the checkbox to select item
You can Select files based filter with the +/- button on toolbar (Num+ or Num- Hotkeys)
And many more way..

Also many way to delete
Do delete all select item you can press delete Delete button on the button panel, or press the Delete button on the toolbar.
Press Delete Key or press F8. or select delete from popup menu or select delete from the file menu.
