If you tablet or cellphone is not recognized by Windows as a storage device and gets a drive letter then it might be found using WPD (Windows Portable Device).

Check the device DropDown. There is a "Portable (WPD:)" entry

Hi,

I don't know if this helps but I have a phone that "asks" what to do when connected to a PC.
Choices are storage device or battery charging.
If I choose battery charging it isn't recognized.
