Removing Some Entries

In my explorer window on the bottom it shows FTP, Favorites, etc. I thought I would be able to move them but the options under CONFIGURATION > EXPLORER PANEL SETTINGS > LAYOUT did not seem to do so. Are these items removeable from the folder list?

You can not remove individual items, But device groups can be enabled/disabled

Under the "Device dropdown list" option on the settings page you said you have options to enable/disable groups like Common Special Folders, Extended special folders, Virtual devices, Cloud Folders.
If a device is from a plugin and you do not want to use that at all you can disabled the plugin in Menu > Configuation > Manage Plugins and Extensions
