Customizing Columns

(1/2) > >>

sbankscharles:
I have read over several posts about this issue and don't understand if it is a bug or am doing something wrong.  I have removed the columns 'Size' and 'Dimensions' form the explorer window.  I have then "Saved Current Layout as Default" and eve created a new profile.  Even so, every time I open Multi Commander those two columns keep coming back.

Files are being saved under \appdata roaming so I know it's not a rights issue.

Thanks
Charles

Dimensions?

That is not show normally in the default column layout. But if you are in C:\Users\<USERNAME>\Pictures\ the "picture" column layout is used. that layout has dimensions column.. so then you need to remove it from that layout.
When you customize columns.. you have a dropdown for different columns layout.. there should be picture one..

I do not have this column in any layout on my Windows 11.  The folder is under my Public\Pictures in a folder I do store photos.  What I am trying to do is save on real-estate and so don't need this column or even size.  Also, I sort by date which sometimes holds and other times does not.

I have removed Pictures from the customize columns setup and dimensions is not on any setting.

Thanks
Charles

Ok so you have removed the Picture layout. Then you must have added the dimension layout to the default layout or to the one that are active..

The "default" layout is the one that is used by default.
If you want a special layout to be used for some folders.. then you add that path to that layout under the "autoload on path" list.

I have only been using Multi Commander a short time.  Initially, I did not change anything, and the column dimension was always there.  At first, I just ignored it but then decided to start customizing.  Simple solution was to delete column and save current layout, which was the default.  When that didn't work, I created my own profile without the size or dimension columns.  When I launched Multi Commander the next time, both came back.

This should not be this difficult, so I started reading about saving configurations.  I recall reading about bugs and issues which is why I posted now.  I typically know what I am doing.
