I use full pane width but, unfortunately, after closing a session, the following session doesn't open in full pane mode. I suppose it's a bug.

That is by design. Multi Commander is design to use a Source and Target panel. And If you go full width on some of the panels the other panel still exists. And some function still use it and focus can still be there. So to avoid mistakes it will always make sure that both panels are shown at restart.
You can toggle a panel to full o half with width Ctrl+F11. but if you are using only one panel all the time you are missing how MC is designed to work, and some functions will behave strange.

OK, I understand. Anyhow, it's a minor inconvenience. I prefer to work in full panel width mode with several tabs...
