Feature Requests and Suggestions / Re: Copy files with NTFS permisions
« on: February 01, 2014, 22:41:02 »
It is on my todo list.

Add MultiRename Tag dialog is untranslatable. I mean dialog appearing when you press [<] button and then choose Plugin and more menu item.

And i think that property type and value should be delimited. E.g. now it looks like Standard Name. I suggest to make it look like Standard: Name or Standard - Name or similar.

I will add a " - " separator (So they now look the same as where you add Columns) for v4.1 coming today.
But translation support for the dialog have to wait until v4.2

I will try to fix that before the v4.1 release tomorrow.

Support and Feedback / Re: File coloring rules

If you want to match a range then do

date > 1 h
date < 2 h

Then it match if the file is more then 1h old and less then 2h.

However. I get 1h rules to work, However if you change date of the files when testing.  It can look that it does not work because file coloring is something that can be very slow and very CPU intensive. so what rule to use is cached and are only flushed if it have been over 1min ago since last time.

jcmm can you do export the rules and paste it here. (export is the last button with a green down arrow in the rules dialog)

One more bug. Very often date value combo boxes (hours/days/...) have list height = 0. I.e. list is almost invisible. So only cursor selection works.

P.S. It happens on WinXP. Can't check on Win7 now.
Not able to make that happen.. It is strange because the height is never changed. When they are activate/deactivate they are just shown/hidden.
Might be a XP issue...

2906
Indeed. I can confirm strange behaviour of hide/show hidden button. It broke my coloring until MC restart. But it happened only once and i can not reproduce it.
The File Colors are reset. A color reset bug is here so it revert to previous color profile.

2907
well... clean install helped thank U...

I dont remember changin anythin about file colorin or such so I dont know what the reason was really

but its ok now thx again...

however... when I started 'playin' with the 'show hidden files/folders' button the issue appears again... one panel just disappeared completely after hittin this button... then it was back and then gone again... its the same on both panels: when I hit this button not only do hidden files/folders disappear but everythin thats on the partiotion is gone from view... any clues?
So the status field is correct when there is no files. Then I can only guess that the file colors have been mixed up or something.

Only way I can make it happen is if all files and folders has hidden or system flag set. But then the status field is correct. and also shows no files

And a bug in choose colors dialogs. When you choose Invert, Text color is set to black.
I'm not able to reproduce that. Might depend on color settings. Will try again later..
When you press Invert, sample field looks right, but in the color panel cross cursor is moved to bottom. And when you press Apply, text color is black.
It jump to the bottom item if the colors are inverted ? I'm not getting that.
When you press invert it will only switch the selected background/text color in the pick dialog.

One more bug. If there're more than one profile, [Default] will not be applied after restart. Previous will be applied instead.
So if i have profiles [Default], test1, test2, selected e.g. test2, then selected [Default], then restart MC and get test2 profile applied.
So.. It remember all color profiles selected between restarts except for the default profile  ? will check that.

There're 2 bugs in Coloring Rules Editor.

1. Value for Date field doesn't respect time zone when you choose Match Before or After.
2. When you press [.] button in the right top corner of the dialog and then press it again (change/restore dialog colors), spin buttons in the e.g. date edit controls are not updated and look like gray rectangles.
1. Strange. use to work..
2. That button should not even be there. was just a UI test thing.

Hi

Since this last version File coloring rules are not applied correctly. I have coloring rules according to date and only those files that have applied the first rule appear colored.

Rules are match from top to bottom in the list.  The first matching rule will receive the color of that rule.
You can move rules up / down the list by the up/down arrow above the list if you want some rules to have higher priority

2913
Is the file/folder icons shown ?

Have you tweaked colors or are you running default colors ?

Is the status field for the Explorer panel are the size and file/folder count correct ?
Example "0 KB/ 200Kb in 0 / 14 files and 0 / 10 Folders selected"

You can create a backup of the configuration in under Menu > Help > Backup and then upload the config backup to http://multicommander.com/upload/
and I can check if it is a configuration issue. If some settings are in conflict.

1. When cursor is over a flat button on the button panel, button looks like normal button (has 3d face) whereas flat buttons on drive bar has thinner face.

1. Yes, That is by design.

It looks ugly with disabled themes service.
Yes I know..  that why I said I did not know if this option should be there or not.

2. "Text" and "65% Done" strings in Core settings > Colors seem to miss transalation items. Don't know if it really matters.

Flat buttons in the Button Panel (Experimental)

The button panel can now show button without their "button face" or Flat as some calls it. (technically that is wrong.. but how cares..)
When this option is on the default button background and border is not drawn.

Im not sure if this will be an option you can enable.
So for now you need to hack the MultiButtons.xml file you self.

type ":goconfig" in the commandline field to go to the config location that is used.

then edit the "MultiButtons.xml" file and add a flat="1" attribute to the <buttonpanel> tag at the top.

It will then look something like this
Code: [Select]
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<buttonpanel id="1" rows="4" cols="8" flat="1">

Bind/Unbind Keys

As noted in the list above you can now bind hotkeys using command line command and script.

Command line command

":bindkey <cmd> <key>"
":unbindkey <cmd>"

Example
Code: [Select]
:bindkey ExplorerPanel.31000 Ctrl+N
:unbindkey ExplorerPanel.31000

Bind/unbind from command line field will save the keybinding to the config file.

Custom Command
MC.BindKey CMD="<cmd>" KEY="<key>" SAVE
MC.UnBindKey CMD="<cmd>" SAVE

Example
Code: [Select]
MC.BindKey CMD="ExplorerPanel.31000" Key="Ctrl+N" SAVE
For Custom commands the SAVE keyword is optional. And it will only save the new keys to the config if it is set.

Custom Commands can only run one command per command. So if you want to bind many key you can create a MultiScript Command.
From MultiScript you can run multiple MC.BindKey command.
And then you only need to specified the "SAVE" parameter on the last command. (No need to save the settings to file after every bind)

Errors and problems with bind/unbind will be printed to the Application log window.

Keys are specified as Ctrl+N , or Shift+Ctrl+F2, Alt+Ctrl+D and so on.  The Keys must be specified in English and no spaces.

You find the command name to use in the Keyboard customization dialog.
Click on a command there and to the right you see a command code. This is the internal command name.
You can get a list of all the commands with the command code by holding SHIFT and clicking on "Export to file"

I can not reproduce that.

Problem is that there is many kinds of proxys and proxy modes.
What kind of proxy are you using and what kind of proxy mode is it using?

« on: January 23, 2014, 12:35:25 »
I have not tested yet..
But I think it flips out because it does not understands that 1 and 2 are folders. it might take that as the src/target filename. (But not sure)

But try to add a slash \ to the end of $dst / $src, before sending to copyfile

$dst += "\";
$src += "\";

Support and Feedback / Re: Filtering on Empty Folders
« on: January 22, 2014, 07:36:19 »
You can click on calculcate folder size (shift+alt+return) and it will show the size of the folder.

File Coloring can not detect if a folder is empty since that require scanning of the folder structure, and not a property of the file/folder.
But if the empty folders always are the same you can edit the file coloring rules and create a rule for "Possible Empty Folder" and match those folders by name.

And you can also add the folders by name to the ViewFilter so they are filtered out and not shown at all.

Feature Requests and Suggestions / Re: Main Top Menu Font Change
« on: January 21, 2014, 17:50:28 »
If you now run at a super high resolution. Then don't you want the menu to be bigger in ALL programs and not just MC ?
MC is using the font size Windows has set for menus. And that size can be configured in the Windows Settings.
Changing it in windows settings all programs that are showing menu will have a bigger one.

No, most of my programs that I use every day have fonts that can be set, just as many fonts can be set in MC. I've already set the font global size to 135% in Windows - if that's what you're talking about. I don't think that I can crank that up any more without having a negative impact on other programs.

No, Im not talking about the DPI settings. (However, MC will also use that) But you can also change the base font size for all of the UI elements there.
Like MenuBar, Windows boarder, Title bar and so on.  (See the  replay from Jungle)
And if you change the font for MenuBar there all programs will now use that font size. (Unless it is a program that do not use the standard menubar component that Windows provide)

I do not think it is a good idea to override the standard way to change the MenuBar font, I think MC should use the font defined for the MenuBar in Windows, Because if you want larger menubar then you want it in all programs. And then you should do the change in windows.

Here is where you change it in Windows 8/8.1

Support and Feedback / Re: Deleting temp files gives weird message

Strange. Works for me when I tries it
If it happens again look in the file operations log (Ctrl+L) There is usually more information about that went wrong there.

The "Requesting Restarting..." is the background work for getting icons that flipped out.  Sound like a thread sync issue.
