Release v3.9.9 (Build 1598)

   415+ Changes and some of them are...

ADDED - Show Select/Unselect popup menu can be shown using hotkeys.
FIXED - After scanning network, The background thread are now closed correctly
FIXED - FileType setup and icon override now works with quoted paths.
FIXED - Some places did not use the Multi Language System. (New Language Texts Added)
UPG   - Upgrade the 3d party Metadata library in the MCAudioTools extension, Now using TagLib 1.9.1

Change Log for Build 1595

Know Issues not fixed yet
* Icon cache is not flushed after a change of icons in FileType Setup. Do it manually with ":cic" command and then refresh views.

I know. It is also mention in the blog post

That also why there is a "*" there.

If you go in and out of the folder it should refresh.

If you name the tab in the Tab Properties dialog.. is the name also removed after restart of MC. ?

That is strange.. I'm not able to recreate that. works for me what ever I do.

is the color settings saved when exiting ?

or
Installed :  HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\MultiCommander\SessionHistory\a4c2985d9c7e4035a3221cfd600171d0\AutoLoad\ 0,1,2,3 and so on.. (tab num)

View/Selection filters

1. In blog post you write

By pressing the right mouse button on the Add Selection/Remove Selection toolbar buttons a dropdown menu with quick selection option will be shown.

But what if i've disabled file operations toolbar? Is there other way to show [un]Selection filters?
Maybe right/middle click on the selection status at the bottom of explorer panel?

2. "Need help ?" link in View/Selection Filters setup dialog shows tooltip about user commands.

1.  If you disable the toolbar then you are out of luck , However it will be possible to show the menu from a hotkey. so then that have to be enough.
The selection field does not support that mouse action are bound to it. and it require to much to add that now.

No it should remember it.

It reverted at reboot ? not just a restart of MultiCommander ?

What tab Colors did you change the default one for the tab in core settings or the custom tab color for a specific tab ?

File types.

1. Icon in "View"/"Edit" tabs is not displayed if icon file path is relative or enclosed by quotes (see pic1)

2. Icon in "Icons" tab, "Extensions" column is not displayed if icon file path is enclosed by quotes (see pic2)

3. Icon is not applied (to file list) if icon file path is enclosed by quotes

4. If you add new extension in "Icons" tab, then "Override" icon for that file type in "View"/"Edit" tabs, you will see only one entry in the "Icons" tab until MC restart. If you uncheck "Override" again (before restart), this entry will disappear from Icons list.

5. If you create new entry in e.g. "Edit" tab, type extensions or/and parameters and then choose path to program, extensions and parameters will be cleared.

6. It's a little bit confusing that in "Icons" tab extension should be typed without "*." (e.g. txt) whereas everywhere else it should be typed with "*." (e.g. *.txt)

7. Custom icons are only applied after MC restart, but there are no any warning.

1/2/3. Path to icons do not need to be quoted.. But I will change so if quoted they are removed internally. So then it will work both ways.

4. You can not have an icon for both. View/Edit will override icon.

6. Will fix so * is auto removed if entered.

7. Well Yes and No.. If the icon is already cache then the already cached icon is shown. Maybe it should clear the icon cache ( manually done with ":cic" command )

File Checksum issues

1. Create new checksum file
2. Add some files
3. Uncheck all.
4. Press start.

Result: "verifying" process will not end and can't be interrupted (pause/stop buttons do nothing)

Ahh.. Starting with 0 selected. Will fix that

In verifying file reference existence there are messages like
"1 SFV files have missing files"
"Totally missing 1 files"

I think they shoud be "redesigned". E.g.
"Inconsistent SFV files: 1"
"Total missed files : 1"

Yes that is better. I will change.

Localization. Some items seem to be hardcoded.

Crap. I double checked it.. How could I have missed them.. Well,
I will fix it

After scanning newtwork MC closes a long time even if cache is disabled

Don't understand what the problem is ?

Picture viewer.

I got a long list of stuff to add/change/fix with the picture viewer., But I did not have the time to get into it in this release.

After some delay the beta for want will be v4.0 is finally here.

Release v3.9.9 (Build 1595)

ADDED - New Splash - Provided by Patrick of Chasing Carrots (www.chasing-carrots.com)
ADDED - Icons can now be overrided based on file extension. (Extra Useful for portable mode, to always show same icons)
ADDED - FileType setup for Viewers and Editors can now also define there own icon
ADDED - Zip Extension now has its own settings page where some zip settings like CodePage can be configured.
ADDED - Default Tab Colors for all extension can be customized.
ADDED - Explorer Panel can customize the Tab Color and Name for every tab.
ADDED - Explorer Panel now support medium (24) and extra large (48) icons.
ADDED - Column customization have been reworked and dialogs merged.
ADDED - Columns can now be customized to have and extra left/right space in them.
ADDED - Quick Look and Feel Setup window and been redesigned. And the two dialogs are now one.
ADDED - Buttons in the button panel can now also show an icon.
ADDED - Progressbars colors for the Copy/Move/Delete/Extract dialogs can now be customized.
ADDED - Scanning Network for computers will now keep cache of found computers. And also possible to pin computer so they are always shown.

1a) Since the UI Components used does not support that. It will not be supported until I get time to add it to it my self. And that might take some time.

2) Sorting is using functions in Windows that uses the regional settings. The Natural sorting option might mess not work so good with some language.
Try disable it in Explorer Panel Settings > Display (tab) > Sorting and columns (category)
Unheck Sort files and folders in natural order

8] Problem is that the standard UI component used to select time do not support milliseconds. And building my own would take to much time.

1. Can not add symbol for milliseconds to custom time format since this is using built in time formating in Windows and it does not support milliseconds.

2. Resize the column to fit you size and select to "Set current layout as default" then you new sizes and layout will be used as default.
  Or go into customize and change it there.
