Hi all
My favorite program won't start anymore :( , after starting up , got the small window and the latest message I see is initializing Explorer Window and then it ends
Use W10 64 bits, reinstalled the program , cleared the register but won't help
Someone any idea , what goes wrong ??
Thanks i.a. for your help

Maybe a problem with your C++ Rzbtine Installation. You can install https://www.sereby.org/site/All%20in%20One%20Runtimes
maybe it works then again.
-
Try the portable verson. it does not relay on any previous settings (if something got miss configured and creted a conflict)
No crash dialog ?
Go to log folder
for installed version it is
C:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\MultiCommander\Logs\
and see the latest *-MultiCommander.log and if there are any error there.
If portable edition, the log is located in Logs/ subfolder of where the portable is run from
Check security software so it does not close it. Filemanagers look suspicious to security software since they have code in them to read/write lots of files things, so some security software are blocking apps like that

Rzbtine ?
MC do not require any runtime dependencies. All dependencies are linked statically into the MC.. (thats why the .exe is a bit big..) Just to avoid issues with missmatched runtimes.

Hi Mathias,
Thanks for the reply, checked the logs , couldn't find any errors . I will try the portable version

Tried the portable version . unfortunately same issues
No special security sw , use the standard W10 sw
Any suggestions ?
thx jiz

Everything loads.. so somethings must be closing it after it starts.
I don't know what can cause that to happen.
have you checked TaskManager that the MultiCommander.exe process goes away ?
You sure it did not send any crashreport ? (dialog showing a crash id is shown )
-
No crashreport , at least I dont find it
Check om the taskmananger it doesn.t start the process
Dont know what is killing the startup proces of MC
keep puzzling

Strange. Does older version work ?
Try disable update check. Maybe you got some Security/Firewall Software that kill programs that access the internet..
open command program from the location that MC is installed and then do
"multicommander.exe -NOUPDATECHECK"
-
Hi Mathias,
thanks for you on going support !
multicommander.exe -NOUPDATECHECK that WORKS !!!!!
so MC starts now , i'll make a shortcut on the desktop and will use this workaround for now
thx jiz
