Support and Feedback / Re: Settings Not Saving

Digger, I appreciate the info, but if in MC's settings it is set to NOT show the icon, then it should not be showing. Not saying it is or is not a complete issue with MC, or Windows (which is a bug fest), but there should be nothing to hide if it is not to appear in the first place. It can be a band aid tip, indeed.
I have not played around with other ideas yet but if i find something, I will let you know.

So far everything else I have changed saved.
Even though it is a fresh install on a new laptop, I could try deleting the settings completely and try again.
It is not that big of an issue if I see it. More of an OCD thing really, and a couple of decades of keeping a tidy taskbar.
I will play around more and if I figure anything I will reply back. Not going to make this a huge deal.

Yes. Seems to be coming back after rebooting and starting the program.

The icon popped back up after the weekend.
I wonder if related to reboots. I will do some testing.

Every now and then, the icon keeps showing in the task tray.
I keep resetting the option in settings and saving it, and it will go away for a bit but then it shows up in tray again.
Right now in CORE SETTINGS > LAYOUT > TRAY ICON they are all unchecked since last week and the tray icon not been shown until I loaded the program today.
Guess I just got some reoccurring glitch in the program or the OS.
I rechecked the box, saved, unchecked, saved, closed program, reopened. Tray icon gone again, and I can report back when I notice it pops back up.

Support and Feedback / Re: Resizing Bar Menu
« on: November 08, 2017, 02:13:51 »
That helped, but not so much of moving the drive buttons down, but it helped me realize that what it was doing was supposedly showing the drive buttons, but they were blank. I did not even have that box for "drive buttons" checked. So i did as you said, to click the box to place the drive letters on their own bar, and they did showing the correct icons. I declicked it, and now the top bars are not separated.

So I guess it left the space for the drive buttons, but did not show me the actual icons.

For some reason the bar menu is split between the icon that splits the explorer bars (50/50, etc) and the icon "copy selected files." I can not find the way, and searched online, for how to resize this back.

1 - Will try.
2 - Oh, there it is. I been looking in the other menus.
3 - For CTRL-C to copy, CTRL-V to paste, CTRL-X to move, etc. Instead they do nothing in MC. Sometimes I will CTRL-C a folder, but it copies the previous file in memory instead.

Got a new laptop at work to replace my old one. Windows 10 Enterprise.
I installed the latest version of MC. I have a few issues but will mention three here.

1 > I have it set not to show the icon in the system tray, but it still show when the program is loaded.
2 > I remove the EXT column but it keeps reappearing when I reopen the program.
How do I keep them from showing?

3 > I have it set to do Windows commands (CTRL-C, CTRL-P, CTRL-X, etc) but it does not work.

Thanks.

Yes, CTRL-V pastes it, that would have been a given when I mentioned CTRL-C.

I will try your other methods, but the issue still stands that the process fails for the same errors above.

Here are the errors:

I too have this issue, even after the update of the program today. I disabled that option to "auto detect" but copying to my external still fails. Seems to even not copy when I do CTRL-C. I have to drag/drop being careful not to move (I hate moving files and it fails).
What else can I try?

Support and Feedback / Columns Empty
« on: February 14, 2016, 04:04:43 »
I fired up the program tonight. I have only three columns. Ext (type), Date (modified), Size. All three are not showing anything for any folder or file, no matter what I try like adding/removing them.

Any thoughts?

Thanks.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh  :P :P :P
I was looking for something like that under basic options. I figured the mouse options were more than what I needed, but I guess I should have looked.
Thanks.  ;D

Support and Feedback / Removing Some Entries
« on: January 28, 2016, 17:57:17 »
In my explorer window on the bottom it shows FTP, Favorites, etc. I thought I would be able to move them but the options under CONFIGURATION > EXPLORER PANEL SETTINGS > LAYOUT did not seem to do so. Are these items removeable from the folder list?

Support and Feedback / Hidden File Found
« on: January 28, 2016, 17:34:23 »
I just started using this program yesterday and to my surprise, it found a hidden file, an image, of something from long ago. Yes, it is one of my images so nothing that "surprised" me. Anyway, so it found this file. I wanted to find out how Windows Explorer, Q-Dir, and Explorer++ never shown it to me in how ever long the file has been there. I have Windows set to show me hidden files, but alas no. Two computers, different file programs, will not see it but Multi Commander does. How?? Can this even be answered? It shows some superiority over the other programs in this way.

Support and Feedback / Single Click?
« on: January 28, 2016, 17:30:51 »
Hello. I am trying out this program, and had to create this account, to ask a couple of questions. I could not find is single clicking is an option. I hated Windows Explorer since Vista. I have used Explorer++ since. Both E++ and WE itself allowed me to single click files to open, rather double click. I could not find if possible with this program.
Is it?
Thank you.
