Support and Feedback / Re: How can I change the default folder tree width?
« Last post by Tom L on October 15, 2018, 19:57:42 »
That worked perfectly! I was already using a a tab session anyway which I had incorporated into a batch file on my desktop (I use the batch file to open MC). So the minor edit of the tab session did the job.

Problem is that a certificate cost a lot of money and must be renewed every year.

The width is saved and remembered when you exit the program, But it is per tab.

Hello,

Familiarizing myself with Multi Commander and it looks like a solid software.

There are a few things which are quite annoying/frustrating though.
For example:
There is an option: "Sort files and folders separately, Folders first"
Personally I navigate the directory structure using the tree and
when it is time to access/manipulate files, the folders being listed first
are right in the way of the files so it would be good to also have an option:
"Sort files and folders separately, Folders last"

Would that be possible?
How much time would it take for such option to be available in MC?

Many thanks in advance,
Best regards

I would like to have MC open with a wider folder tree width. Is that possible? I notice that the widths of columns in the explorer panel can be changed and saved by right-clicking on the column headings. Is there a place to do the same with the folder tree?

Support and Feedback / Re: Multi Commander stopped working on start

So people still use proxy. Hmm Okey.  It might be that.
Problem is that all proxy handling is handled by windows. I do not handle it my self inside MC, I use existing functions in Windows for that.
I can't really fix it unless I can recreate it. So a video is to no use.
And since it can't talk to the net, It can't even send a crash reprot to my system. So I do not have that to go on.

I will add it to my list to check,

If you start the MultiUpdate , does it also crash if it checks for new version? it is using similar ways to talk to internet

Support and Feedback / Re: Startup definition file Sort by date

No,, sorting is defined per tab. So each tab can have it own sorting
But you can create TabSession or scritp that you run at startup that does it

OK, this is weird.  I've tried another program called "Total Commander" just for comparison - and I'm getting exactly the same problem.  Initially the first one or 2 directories I view show thumbnail previews correctly.  After that it's nothing but generic icons.  So is it Windows that's messing this up? (Windows 10)

The problem is rather unpredictable.  Sometimes when I close and reopen the program, the thumbnails for the last directory I was looking at show correctly.  Please tell me there's a solution to this because it's driving me nuts.
