Title: Portable Configuration
Post by: darwin4ever on January 05, 2018, 12:17:16
Hi,

In general, I would like to know in which files the configuration(s) is(are) stored so that I can copy it from one installation(version) to another.

As an example : I have a completely configured MultiCommander_win32_Portable_(5.1.1.1926) from which I would like to reuse the settings in MultiCommander_win32_Portable_(7.7.0.2404)

On the other hand I would like to know it also for backup-reasons.

I would also like to know what's the best way-of-working for upgrading a portable-version to a newer so that settings are maintained

Thanks

You can just use MultiUpdate to upgrade, it will not touch configuration.

Also in Help menu there is a backup/restore that will backup/restore configuration

Or from with in MC type ":goconfig" in the commandline field, it will take you to where your personal config file are located.
For portable they are stored in the Config folder (history info in SessionConfig folder, it is like last info search for, and last entered info,  and such, stuff that get autofilled based on what you did before)
