I know.  The problem is that FTP is added as a virtual filesystem. But I'm planing on finding some sort of solution for all the special FTP thing that can't be mapped from normal file system functions.

The Disconnect button will be enable IF window tells MC that the device is of removable type. Why windows does not do that for your Goflex drive, I do not know.
All other external storage devices I tested on works.

It is planed, but it would require a lot of work and I do not know when I get the time to fix that.
However there are some free "Web to PDF" tools (I do not have links to them. but google will find them) that will convert webpages to pdf and that might work.

I have Freeagent GoFlex Drive set is my G: drive. This is 1tb portable storage drive. There is an icon which I think is supposed to connect/disconnect such drives. However this icon is not active but my G: drive is displayed in drive bottons. Therefore I can not click on it to disconnect G: drive.
How is it connected to the computer USB ? ESATA ? Network ? Is it Removable in the list of removable devices in Windows, when you press the tray icon windows has for removable devices ?

Sir, this is connected to computer by USB port. When it stays connected MC as well My Computer shows it on button bar as G, when not MC only displays drives C: D: E: (F:\ being portable CD drive). Enclosing Screenshots.
This is not big issue but I would want it to work if MC has such option Sir.

The disconnect button is only shown if the device says to windows that it is a drive that can be removed. And you know that if it is listed in the window traybar.
The disconnect button in MC is the same as 'safe removal' in windows. See

And if your GoFlex is listed in the tray as removable then it should be able to disconnect it from MC.

Looks like a bug.. None of the other panel settings (view mode, dateformat, locked, allow change, show tree ,... , ... ) are saved if that option is disabled.

I will correct that.

1. I have Tabs in left panel, a. D:\abcd 2. E:efcg. on my right panel I have a. E:\hiij, E:\klmn, E:\opqr. I wish to set this as my start option. In other words I want these to open when I start MC.

As Jungle says use Command line parameter if you always what the same paths.

When running in Portable Mode it will save session config/info to file (else it is stored in the registry) But this information is not important for the program. It is information like last windows position, History information on what was written in some dropdown lists, what folder you last where in is so that it is starts up with that folder. and other stuff like that. This information is not backed up because it is not considered to be important and is not require.

The backup should contains all the configuration file.

Quicklaunch are just a launch area. And does not support replace tags. (with the expectation of environment variables)

But using a User Defined Command like jungle describes is the way to go if you want to connect a Quick Launch button with the file listing.

The command line field will resize it self, The more buttons you add the smaller it will be.

It is also possible to add an entire own quick launch bar  row, this is done under 'Core Settings '

Strange. Maybe thew classic start menu hook it self into the process and steals mouse up messages or something ?

Because MC need the mouse up or key up message to be able to return to default state.

The button panel changes layout modes both using Ctrl , Shift and Ctrl+shift, but also when using mouse by pressing down right button or middle button.
But if the Button Up or Mouse Up message is not sent to MC then the panel is does not return to default mode.

This is by design, so that you can press right mouse button and move mouse outside of MC and release it and button panel will stay it that mode and it is now easier to click on or modify the buttons in the alternative layouts.

1. Picture Viewer or do you mean Thumbnails ?
 If Picture Viewer, Then no it does not auto resize when resizing size, And it is by design since it flickers to much.. But pressing Ctrl+0 will zoom image to window

2. Explorer Panel Settings, First tab at the bottom "Save on exit", Uncheck "Save only paths to local harddrive"

3. You can do that with script command and assign to hotkey. But delete file without question will not be a default action. to much risk that users messup.

4. Ctrl+F4 will sort by the 4th column. Do not think there will be a global default for it. You can do a script that opens new tab and set sorting for you.

5. The keyboard export will generate an output list for you what all your keys, It is not a backup feature..
    For backup/replace use the Backup/Restore under help menu or copy the file CustomKeymappings.xml manually.

The Panel Split will always revert to 50/50  but the column customization can be saved and kept between restarts.

No there is no plans to change so that it will keep the 0/100 panel split, Because there is so many feature are depended on having a source and target view. It is the whole idea with this kind of design. And running always in 0/100 mode is really not recommended because you might do things in the hidden view and not notice it.
It is there for the special few moment when you need it. But will revert back when restarting so you do not accidentally mess up things.


Might add possibility to script it, so if you can use a autorun script that can auto change it on startup. But it will not be a default or easy settings to change to enable it.

It would be possible to show some of the dialog windows inside a tab panel. That was the idea from the start. But it was so so much easier and faster to create normal Dialog Windows, But some of the dialog windows might change, I have some task about doing that.

And about search.. That is one part of the UI that I'm really not happy with and I want to change it. But I have not really decided how I will change it. I have not been able to design a UI for search that I'm really happy with yet. But I will consider your suggestions when I will try redesign it again.
But at the moment the redesign of Search is put on hold since I'm currently prioritizing adding some new features instead of changing some existing.

Hmm a program called "Native Language Files"? Never heard of it, I tried to google it but found a lot of other none related things..

I'm not going to change language files format. That is to big of a change. But I might add better functions to the built in language editor.

That is a bug.. Well the bug is really that shift+ctrl was allowed. Was not intended from the beginning. Thats why it does not save that combinations. But since it now is there. The save will be fixed to actually save the shift+ctrl buttons.

AutoSize Columns is not used in List mode at the moment.

I had it there in a beta but removed it because it resulted in some strange and jerky UI. But I got it on my list and it might be fixed in the future.

Synchronization is still on the list. It is near the top.

But also synchronization is a feature that means different things to different people. In the why they expect it to work.
And I have not yet decided what kind of how advanced synchronization to add.

If MC will stay free forever.. I do not know. If it was changed I could buy some 3de party components instead of doing everything my self, app signing, professional icons, and more.
But it would also require a lot of administration that I'm to lazy to handle,  So.  There is no plans for any such change anytime soon.
