Title: Best explorer panel fonts to use withhigh-res screens
Post by: Amir J. Katz on March 08, 2018, 11:38:35
Hi, I have 2 high-res screens (1920x1080) connected to a 4K laptop (on which I use the same resolution), and the default explorer panel fonts (MS Sans Serif 10) are a bit hard for me to read. I tried a bigger size and bold, but neither is a satisfactory solution.
I only use English on this computer and the fonts must not be fixed-width.
Could someone recommend other fonts?
Thanks, Amir

1080 is no longer high res. 4k is high res now. Use Verdana for best results on all screens. And you should test how it look without cleartype or you can change the cleartype settings: Press Win + R and type cttune.exe and press enter and run the wizard or disable it.

Maybe your screens are not rigt calibrated. Are they with hdmi connected or dvi or crt or display port?

I'm using Windows 10 with a resolution of 1680x1050 and display scale of 125%.
My favorite font for use with MC is Segoe UI (Semibold 9 point).  See if you like that one.  Very readable!
