Very much better will be the restoring of the last active Tab. When a new Layout (Session) loaded, always the last tabs and the right panel are active also when a Focus Information saved. Therefore i can't see any sense for this feature.

Maybe i move to the sessions, but with the sessions is nothing better than a easier saving of changes.

I tested the tab sessions again and have to say that the issue with the active tab and panel works good with the sessions. Now and i guess  i move to the sessions. Maybe the sessions can also be loaded with a bat file, i will trying to find out.

No bat file to load MC needed anymore.
I moved to the sessions.
And if focus on the first line with the arrow for parent directory it will be everytime on top.

No need to make any setup options, the MCTAB Files are obsolete.

I find it invaluable.  I was extremely pleased when it was implemented :)
Ok, nice, but sorry, i can't understand why you need a focus on a very old file or save you the MCTAB-Files every day?

I can remove this information from the files with a text editor. Sure i save my MCTAB-Files only sometimes. Some files are only the first time saved and never again. Therefore i needed a year to find out.

However, I might maybe add a settings. if this is really causing an issue..
Sure there are much settings, but making this optionally will be nice. Maybe you can add sometimes a search engine for settings.

203
Since which release save MC the File Focus Information tonthe MCTAB-Files? My older files don't contain such useless information.
I was scared about that after every restart the focus is on a very old file.
Please remove this new feature again.

I deleted just all focus informations from the files.

This new feature is imo useless.

When attempting to rename a file and need to select the last word in the filename with double click, the word will be selected together with the filename extension. This is not good. Better is a dialog box with separate fields for filename and extension, or a better separation of filename and extension in the direct rename field.

I created a user defined command:
Code: [Select]
MC.Explorer.NewBrowser PATH="${focusfilepath}" SIDE=TARGET
MC.SetActivePanel PANEL=INACTIVE
And gave them the simple hotkey Right-Arrow.

This User defined command create a new tab on target panel with the path of the folder or file  in focus. This is a very useful command, i use it every day.

But the new tab start with a different size of the folder tree.

If i use Ctrl+T for creating a new tab-copy on source-panel, the size are not wrong. Also if starting a New MC instance without using the bat file the size are not wrong.

206
I can't understand why pressing View> Full Pane Width (F11) is such a problem for some users. Where is a better solution for it? You have already this hotkey F11. Don't need to create a user defined command.

1. and 2. means imo the order and display position in the folder tree. This is maybe a little bit similar to http://forum.multicommander.com/forum/index.php/topic,2011.0.html

208
Wait..! no you should not past it into the path field..  you should just press paste (ctrl+v) when the input focus is in the explorer panel
Thanks alot. This is btw a easy way for paste a path.

209
No it works no more, also not with C:\Windows\System32\notepad.exe.

210
When paste a full path of a file, the file should be on focus. At time nothing in focus. For me is this a bug and no feature and i know 2 other file explorers which do it like i want. The Windows Explorer not, but the windows explorer is so bad that we should not talk about.

211
If you save the tab layout (File> Tab sessions) you can load the layout when your network connection available.

Autosizing was on and i got a horizontal scrollbar. I got the scrollbar and was tired to use Autosizing and turned it off.

I run MC never as Admin. I thought the Admin Mode should be enough. MC run as normal user. But the windows User (me) is a Admin.
Maybe this issue have to do with the Admin Mode.

There is also another Problem with the admin mode: Click at a protected folder do not trigger the admin mode.

215
This problem is also in all other systems, not only in mine. And it is long before i installed the Windows 10 Creators Update 1703. It is 100% reproducible. Also all the other problems with hard protected folders are everywhere reproducible and have nothing to do with my own system. Please try to reproduce it by yourself, this need just 1 minute of work. We all have not enough time.

Save current layout as default'
I have autosizing in the config enabled and thouht it will always autosize. So should it no matter what in the column layout saved bacause it should always autosize and it autosize most time, but not when using the folder tree..

Edit
Thank you very much, it works. It is not a full autosize, the autosize algorithm use also user settings for autosizing. Thats not bad.

Moving Files in protected Folders fail when in the target folder files with the same name already exists.  Using copying in the same job works without errors.

Feature Requests and Suggestions / Re: Sorting folders
« on: July 12, 2017, 18:29:25 »
If you save a tab layout, the sort config will be saved to the layout file.

221
that would make it impossible to navigate to another drive from the tree
For navigating to another drive are the buttons above or the dropdown list enough. In FC is this made. The Three is just overloaded with all drives and Registry, Portable, FTP, and i dont need the global filter. I have also another idea about files and folders. Show only files and no folders in 1 folder without subfolders(not like the flat view). Keep the good work.

222
Thats extremely good. Sorry, didn't find out.

It happens only when loading the tab or explorer panel with a folder with only some files and no scrollbars at display. After changing the folder with the Folder Tree to a folder with much files and scrollbar visible, the autosizing works not properly. Watch my screenshot and see the points in the modify date.

224
only the file in focus should be opened on a double-click
Yes, thats right.

If a scrollbar visible the autosize of columns will cut the last column with ... But space is enough available. This is a little bit android style....
