I can't replicate that. I don't even get a confirm dialog.

* I Set file attribute to ReadOnly,
* Enter inline rename of file
* Change the name
* press return to confirm filename
* It gets renamed and no dialog is shown

I don't get any confirm dialog or anything. Not even Windows Explorer show anything when renaming file with ReadOnly attributre.. ReadOnly attribute does not prevent renaming so not sure why it is showing a dialog for you.

What do you do to trigger it?

Bug Description:
When attempting to rename a read-only file, the system prompts for confirmation with an option to force rename. If the user navigates to "No, Do Not Rename" using the Down Arrow key and confirms with Enter, the file still gets renamed instead of cancelling the operation. This indicates that the confirmation dialog's response is not being correctly processed, allowing a force rename to proceed even when "No" is selected.

Notes:

• The bug persists across multiple versions/releases.
• Expected behavior is that selecting "No" should cancel the rename operation.

Yes sorry i meant that. I have enabled it back again, i don't like when i rename something and have to refresh the window. I wish one could set that timeout in windows. Never mind, thanks for the best filemanager.

it is always enabled by default. you need to disable it.

When you activate MC it will refresh the filelist. And after sleep network connection has gone done..
So If MC is showing a network shares, Then it will take a while before Windows timeout and lets MC know that it is not available anymore. And if it is available it can takes some time because Windows need to login and initialize a new connection to the server (but that of often quite fast)

You can turn off so MC does not auto refresh when you active the MC app.. Then you might have a chance to navigate away to some other location.
However. It will prevent some automatic refresh of the filelist view in MC.

Core Settings > FileSystem(tab) > Tweaking.
Then Uncheck "FileSystem Refresh > "Refresh tabs when application focus is returned"

Hi Mathias,

When i close my laptop (so it goes to sleep) and go to my desktop where a share was open to the laptop, it always takes a minute or more before MC becomes responsible again.
Is there anything you can do?

I find no issue deleting folders with readonly attribures. MC will try to remove the readonly/system attributes that normally prevents deletes when deleting.

So I can't replicate it

I don't have FF.  I can't reproduce that.
 
There was no error before that, that it failed to delete some files in the folder ? Is the folder empty?
Is the folder a real folder ? or special virtual files that FF hook into to do special stuff with?

The problem also occurred with other folders that came from a smartphone backup using MPE. The error message may vary, but it never offers the option to delete the files or end processes that might be preventing it.

I also have Firefox and have many "idb" folders deep within my profile storage archives, in paths similar to the one in your error log message. I've checked the properties for about half a dozen of them and they all show read-only attributes for the folders, and most or all of them contain additional read-only subfolders. You might need to clear that attribute from any folders you want to delete and they might be protected by some other running process.

That's an interesting point, but when files are in use, there is the option to terminate the corresponding processes, which isn't offered here. Also, nothing changes when running MC as an administrator, and the Windows Explorer deletes the respective folders without any issue.
