Thanks :)

Not a feature I use myself, but at least I know what you are talking about and that I cannot help ;)

Hi Ulf.

What is "MDV" and how do you invoke it?

Feature Requests and Suggestions / Minimise to Tray Enhancements
« on: February 15, 2018, 11:21:42 »
Hi Mathias.

I have recently started using "Minimize to tray instead of closing".

It would be really useful to have a configuration setting to "Start MC minimized to tray" so I can start it automatically with the OS and have it in the tray ready to use.

Also, once minimized, the only ways to actually close MC are:

Right-click the tray icon and click "Close Multi Commander (I do not really want to reach for the mouse) or
Choose the File menu and select "Exit"; but...  then I have the "Are you sure you want to exit Multi Commander" dialog.

It would useful if that dialog could be suppressed with a configuration setting, so that MC closes immediately.

In Menu: Configuration > Explorer Settings > Keyboard Handling, uncheck "Forward keys to command line bar".

Does the MC log (Ctrl+L) show anything useful?

Mathias,

You can delete a folder if files inside it are in use
Should that be "You canNOT delete a folder if files inside it are in use"?

Do the MC log files contain any clue?

The detailed format of the size is not user friendly
Under the menu: Configuration->Explorer Panel Settings on the "Display" tab in the "File and Folder Display" section, you can set the file size units and the suffix.

Very user friendly ;)

Sorry Mathias - my bad.

I opened the tree in a locked tab so, of course, I could not navigate anywhere else.  ::)

Old age I guess ;)

Have a great Christmas and thanks for all the hard work :)

Mathias,
The problem is worse in build 2400...

If I open a filetree node using the mouse and then move further down the tree, clicking in the node that is selected does not show the correct files in the files pane; the original node's files are still shown.

Also, hitting Enter (Return) moves to the files pane, but there is no way [keyboard) to get back to the tree.

I hope that is a clear explanation  :-\

Ahh did not see.. PM on forum works badly..

SMF 2.0.14 and SMF 2.0.15 both address email issues.  Maybe time for an upgrade...?

Mi Mathias.

I notice the new beta is not showing the "Beta" banner on the splash screen or the "About...." screen.

I can confirm this problem (build 2381).

On further testing, you do not even need steps 2 and 3, just to enter a folder for the first time.

Noticed a strange status output error using the sfv checker on W7x64 MC 7.5 b2381

What is "sfv"?

Ok, nice, but sorry, i can't understand why you need a focus on a very old file or save you the MCTAB-Files every day?

No.  I have a"standard" set of tabs which is my starting point when I open MC.  I have a link in my first tab to a mailbox that my programming colleagues post to all day, every day.

So I use this shortcut most often.  It saves me having to type "M" to give it focus ;)

The .mctab file is just a plain text file, so it's easy enough to delete the "ItemFocus" line, if you like.

This new feature is imo useless.
I find it invaluable.  I was extremely pleased when it was implemented :)

Hi Mathias.

Build 2379 is labelled 7.5, not 7.4...

Where in config is this option - I am too blind (or old) to find it ;)

I'm sure no one goes through all their systray apps and closes them all individually before shutting down their PC?

You are right, of course.  I should have read more carefully before posting. Apologies  :-[

REG is not using default column setup. So it cant remember it
I realise that, but the issue was not present before v7.3

Might be possible to create a custom column setup that only trigger for reg:
That would be excellent!

FWIW, it is bad practice to shut down a PC without closing all open apps...   :-\

Support and Feedback / Last Modified Date Often not Populated
« on: July 15, 2017, 19:16:17 »
Build 2360, Win 7 Pro, x64

Mathias,

there is an issue with Last Modified Date in build 2360 and the last 3 or 4 builds.

This happens frequently after re-starting MC.  F5 causes the column to be repopulated (of course), but I cannot pin down when or why it happens.  There is nothing in the logs...

Anything I can test?
