Title: mp3 player not recognised
Post by: lotsamosi on August 20, 2012, 19:09:30
When I start up Multi Commander it does not 'see' my Sansa Clip mp3 player - it does not appear in the device dropdown or in the folder tree. Any ideas why?

Only devices that get attached as storage device are supported. If windows does not attach a drive letter to your device then it is not supported.

Doing a quick google about the sanas clip says that there is a settings in it that will make it so Windows will connect to it as a normal storage device.
"Go into Settings > System Settings > USB Mode and set it to MSC (Mass Storage Class)"

Thank you for the prompt reply! I changed the setting and now the player is recognised. It does show the various folders, but they are shown as empty - it does not see the actual mp3 files.

No idea. maybe there are some other settings. I do not know anything about that device.
Are the files shown using Explorer when the device has a device letter ?

If they are shown in explorer when accessed through a drive letter then it should be showing in MC.
