The startup.ini trick was exactly what I was looking for. Worked like a charm. I seriously couldn't live without MC. Thank you so much for your product and your support.

Support and Feedback / Loose panel focus

Hello community

Quick question. I have a funny behavoir when I'm browsing my file structure in the explorer panel. Basically, when I'm in a locked tab and I hit ENTER to enter a folder, a new tab opens with the folder (that's correct bavior) BUT my cursor looses the focus of the panel and seems to jump either to the window or the path. I can not continue to navigate the subfolder with the arrow keys right away. I have to use the mouse to click into the explorer panel, put the cursor back into the panel, and then I can go on to use my arrow keys.

So the question is: When opening a new tab (for example by entering a sub-folder in a locked tab), is it possible to set the explorer panel as the default place for the cursor?

Has anyone seen this?

Regards

Support and Feedback / Save locked Tabs

Hello community

First off: LOVE my MC. Best product ever. Thank you SOO much.

Quick question: I've got a number of Tabs (4) that I've locked. Is it possible to save exactly those Tabs, and have this configuration open as my default Tabs every time I start my MC? You see, right now it's saving all the tabs that I have when I exit MC, but I don't want all of these Tabs to open next time. I just want a small set of locked Tabs. Always the same set. I kind of want MC to refresh to my standard set of tabs that I've configured.

I've found the setting "Save Path on Exit" in the "Explorer Panel Settings". Disabling this seemed the right idea. And indeed - MC opens up with just my 4 locked tabs. BUT, the tabs always open up in C:/ and not my desired folder. So basically it seems I can save the number of locked tabs for every MC start, but the correct paths don't get loaded.

Am I making sense? :)

Thanks Regards

I'm running on Win7, 64bit, Enterprise Edition.

Funny enough, ever since I posted my problem, the weird behaviour has disappeared. This forum is the best - simply posting will already take care of the problem. :)

I will try to recreate it. I'll let you know if I find out how.

Hello Community

First off: Such a great solution! I really love the multi commander. Great work and I applaud you for such a product.

I have got two problems.

The first one presents itself when I do simple browsing of my files. Somehow the highlighting bar which usually shows which File I'm currently selecting does not render properly. When I move the bar up or down, rather than highlighting the next file, the remaining file remains highlighted and the rendering kind of becomes weird so I no longer know where my cursor is. Sometimes it looks like I've selected File A, yet I'm actually selecting the file above or beneath. See attached screenshot. This behavior only shows when I start Multi Commander in Full Screen Mode. As soon as I resize the Window, the behaviour disappears and everything goes back to normal. Even if I go Full Screen again, the weird behaviour won't repeat. Everything will stay normal.

My second problem relates to the size of the buttons. I've disabled the 4 rows of buttons and rather just left one bar. However, the height of the bar is a bit too small, so the buttons looks cropped. I haven't found a place where I can customize the height of the button bar. See attached screenshot.

Thanks for your help
Manuel
