Sorry for not answering. I totally missed that post.

There are a couple of ways

Hotpath (Right click on field showing current path) this paths can also be accessed with ctrl+<num>

You can also a change path using 'user commands' and add that command to the button panel, or Menu. or assign a shortcut to it, or assingn an aliases to it.

You can also create aliases that expands into a full path.  So if you enter a word in the commandline field. that word will then expand to a full path and it will then go there.

A more unified are batter ways are planed for the future.

Good idea. Will add that to the list.

Download the file and replace the .exe

New MultiCommander.exe (require build 840)

There is a new beta..  Build 840.  Try that. I changed how it will copy the files and improved error handling.

If you can.

Try enable the Application log and set log level to "information" and enable "save to file".

Menu -> Configuration > Core Settings > [tab] Logging.

To find the log file you can go to Menu > Help > Goto > Log Folder.

The file will be named "<date>-(num)-MultiCommander.log"  it should have some text in it that says

"<date> <time> [Transfer2PortalDevice] ......"

I would be like to see all the lines with "[Transfer2PortalDevice]"

That way I can track down how far it really gets.

So it works if you uncheck the "Create MCStart.exe in the root" option ? but hangs if it is checked.

What OS does it fails under Win7 ? Xp ?

4184
I will take a look at it.

You can try to disable the Autosize column option.

That strange. By default there should be a menubar. you can toggle the menubar on/off with ctrl+m

4188
Able to synchronize folders or files is a feature that is very high up on the list. But if it will be included into the next major release is not yet decided.

4189
Thanks for reporting the problem.

I done some testing and been able to confirm it, the width of the tab is a factor but also the High DPI mode (125%) affects it.

I will fix this to the next release.

I try to answer question as soon as I can.

What the point with a forum if you not going to answer question :)

You are right.

Thanks for reporting the error. I will fix that.

To save the column layout you need to modify the default column set.

Right click on the column header and select 'Change Column Sets' then select '[Default].

To edit the column layout and order for this column set, you press the Change button (located under the list of columns)
(Or select 'Current Column Setup' from the 'Copy From' drop down, located under the button)

Then a dialog will popup where you can add/remove and arrange order of columns. Press OK. and back in the Change Column set dialog. you press Save Changes. Now the default column set will always be what you set it to.

Changing the icon however is not possible to change at the moment. Because of some internal issues this is not an easy fix. But I will put it on the list, And see if I can fix it in the future.

I check the crash report. It did not give me that much.

I do not think it is the dropbox shell extension that it fails on. it fails when it tries to get an overlay icon for a pdf file. But that is probably just a side effect. I think some other shellextension was called before it it was trying to access get the icon for pdf.

Might have something to do with the 'suger sync' shell extension, I will do some more test with that installed.

There was a problem with overlay icon in the root but that got fixed in v1.1.1 so this must be another problem.

I moved my dropbox folder to the root, But I did not get a problem with that. I get the green overlay icon on the dropbox folder.

But I think I found the crash report from you. I will take a look at that and see if it can tell me whats happening.

Did it send a crash report ? I'm not able to find one that matches your problem.

Since the crash is not immediately. You say it comes after a second after you changed drive. My guess is that something with the process of getting the file icons that makes it crash. Can you try to disable icons just to verify if that can be the problem?

Menu > Configuration > Explorer Panel Settings > Layout(tab) > Icons (group)  (uncheck everything there)

Thats strange.

What version/build are you running ?

Are they anything special with D:  (network mounted ? , usb drive ?, cdrom ? )

I will check the crash dump and see if it says anything.

OSX and Linux version not possible at the current time

Feature Requests and Suggestions / Re: Support for other OS's
« on: August 30, 2011, 17:13:20 »
I would very much like to create a Multi Commander for linux and OSX.

But the problem is that OSX , Linux and Windows all have different model for how working with files works. And how the GUI works.
So creating a version for linux or OSX is not an easy task. I would require a lot of work and then I would not have any time over for creating new features for the current Windows Version.

So right now the will not be a Linux or OSX version.
