Feature Requests and Suggestions / Verify after copying/moving?
« on: March 28, 2015, 06:06:22 »
Is there a feature to verify that the copying/moving occurred correctly, by reading back the destination and comparing checksums? TotalCommander has it but I don't see that feature in the documentation for MultiCommander copy/move operations.

If you pin MulitCommander.exe to the Start Menu they press Win and start typing "Multi...", you won't find it.

That's because Windows uses the file description, which is "File Management for Professionals"

Support and Feedback / What do these file colors mean?
« on: March 04, 2015, 00:06:19 »
I've just copied a bunch of pictures from my Android to a hard disk and noticed their colors are apparently randomly both purple and blue (i.e. pictures, and "Today").

However, the creation, write and access times for the files are the same - 2015-02-22.

After restarting MC, all files look correctly purple ("images").

I use MC to view files from my Android's storage and decide which ones to move to my hard drive.

The more files are selected, the slower it is to view the current file (see screencast).

I know that the current file is viewed first, which is nice, and the selected ones are enqueued, but this makes it very slow to view new files if others are selected.

What does MC calculate from the selected files? Could that be not calculated, or cached?

I have an Android phone (Samsung GS5) connected as USB media device. When I try to move files from the phone's storage card to a hard disk, MC actually just copies the file, and doesn't remove it from the destination. Attached is a screencast showing this. The file remains on the phone and can be viewed.

Running Windows 8.1.

Deleting the file works. Total Commander can move files correctly.
