Beta Releases / Re: Version 12 * BETA *
« on: June 17, 2022, 15:47:45 »
Win7 Pro x64.  MC Portable.

I just installed build 2879 and all "Last Modified Date" columns are completely empty: all tabs, including new tabs.

See attached.

Neither restarting MC nor refreshing the view makes any difference.

Script / Re: Strange behavior with MoveFile

What MC are you using: version and installed/portable?

There seems to be another problem in that in your screenshot, the upper progress bar says "2 of 1" ?!

Hi Mathias.

It is the first (and only) time it has ever happened.  And yes, it was on first launch of the program that day.

It has been fine since ?!!?!

Have you tried a reinstall?

Mathias,

I'd appreciate any feedback on crash ID  12-C116UQ when you get around to analysing it.

TIA

You're welcome.

Yes.

Right-click a column header and choose Customize columns.  In there you can create a new column layout and specify which path(s) it should apply to.

Please don't post links to remotely hosted scripts - many of us will NOT follow unknown links.

Instead, post your scripts here in code blocks.

Thanks

Hi.
I think the file name cannot have ":" .
No:  -${time:hh:mm:ss}.zip"

Custom Commands - Examples

You are absolutely correct.

Uncheck "Only auto close on short operations".

Feature Requests and Suggestions / Re: New features

@Stanislav,

we already have file coloring rules which will achieve what you want (without any programming changes needed).

65
How do you zip the html files?  From MC or an external utility (like WinZip, PeaZip, or another tool?)

Right click any column header and select Customize columns... at the bottom of the menu.

Choose your columns and click "Save changes".

Support and Feedback / Re: Delete command - Explorer method
« on: December 02, 2021, 17:50:52 »
Apologies for not being very helpful: I have been using MC so long (I use Explorer Style) I stopped noticing it uses its own dialog.

Can I ask what is your objection to using the MC dialog?  It offer everything (and more) that the Windows dialog does and has the same buttons and defaults.

You would have to switch MC to Explorer Style.

Menu > Configuration > Quick Look'n'Feel Setup... > Windows Explorer Compatibility

70
Which exact version of MC and what OS?
(Also, Commander or Explorer style?)

Have you checked "Automatically re-sort Files and folders after a manual rename" in Explorer Panel Settings?

I cannot reproduce this even when I sort folders/files by Ext (as you do).

What version of MC are you using and is it Installed or Portable?

What kind of drive is Z: - an SSD; an HDD; a VM drive; a subst drive; a USB pen drive; a NAS drive; an SD card; a mounted ISO image?  Something else?

[..] represents the parent of ANY subfolder in ALL windows operating systems since Windows 1.1.  Only a drive "root" (A:, B:, C:, ... Z:) will not have a [..] parent.
