Title: Explorer panel sorting with files first
Post by: freeprog on May 02, 2019, 12:56:00
Maybe my fault (I haven't read the pdf manual thoroughly), but I can't find a way to sort files positioning them before directories in Explorer panels. Any hint?

I have exactly the same question, and I can see there have been no replies to this tread.

I have moved from XYplorer to Multi Commander due to the lack of a XYplorer 64bit version.
I use it as replacement for the WinXP explorer which M$ totally screwed up in later Windows version, so I have a tree pane and a folder/file pane.
I have different sorting in different folders.
My download folder is sorted by date and should show files and folders seperately with files first, but I can only set it to folders first.
Please help.

Menu -> Configuration -> Explorer Panel Settings -> Display tab -> Sorting and Columns section: uncheck Sort file and Folders separately, Folders first.

Any better?

Nope, then folders and files gets mixed.
Files and folders should be seperated and the files should be first (on top).

Sorry - I misread your post.

AFAIK there is no way in MC to sort files before folders.

Ok, I will try to make a feature request. This is in my opinion a useful feature and maybe it is easy to implement.
