Support and Feedback / Simple tree and file pane view
« on: May 06, 2023, 19:47:07 »
Hejsan Mathias

Why can I not get a nice and simple tree and list view as you have in your online manual? (See the attachment).
I am forced to have a 2. list view that I don't use, because "Split size 0/100 or 100/0" can not be saved between sessions.
What is the trick you use?

Support and Feedback / Spyware not shown
« on: April 03, 2022, 17:07:14 »
My 64 bit Win7 pc is infected with M$ spyware, but I didn't know because Multi Commander don't show the spyware folder (CompatTel) + other folders. What is wrong?
MultiCommander v11.6.0 (Build 2845) (64 bit)

Support and Feedback / Problem with context menu
« on: January 13, 2021, 18:00:28 »
I use MC more and more, and find some odd things now and then. Here is one of them:
I use "FileMenu tools" from Lopesoft a lot, it is really a useful timesaver.
However, in the tree pane the "FileMenu tools" context text is missing (the space is there) but the 2. submenu is visible.
This is only in the tree view. In the list view the context is ok.
All other context is ok, and this is only a problem in MC, other file managers do not have this problem
This is Win7 32bit with a WinXP explorer like setup with a tree view to the left and (unfortunately) 2 list views to the right.
I have still not found out how to disable one of the list views so it is also disabled after reboot, maybe someone can give me a hint.
I will now try to attach two screenshots, one with context on the tree view and one one the list view.
"FileMenu tools" context should be just below "Scan with MSE".
Don't be confused, this is a danish Win7 with plenty of english-only programs so the context is rather international.
I can't see how to place the screenshots inline so I have attached them...

Edit: I just tried on a Win7 64bit pc, and there it works...

Support and Feedback / Backup far from complete
« on: January 27, 2020, 16:48:34 »

I have now for the first time used the backup (Core and Explorer settings export/import), because I updated from v9.2 to v9.6.1.
The backups do a very bad job and a lot of settings are not restored, I think mainly from the Explorer settings.
I will name a few: Button window and some toolbars are now on, they were off. Also the number and size of the panes are wrong.
Also the "Quick Look'nFeel setup" comes on every time I start MC. How do kill it? I don't want it, I try to use a backup.
I use the portable 32bit version.
Am I doing something wrong, or does it simply not work as properly?

Feature Requests and Suggestions / possible change to tree pane
« on: October 14, 2019, 00:36:10 »
The + and - signs are very large, dominant and bright in the tree view.
Is it possible to change this? It would also be nice to have dotted lines between them instead of the solid ones, again so they are more discreete.
As you can see, I have replaced the ugly and dominant Win7 folder icons with the nice XP ones.
I have attached two screenshots. #1 is from MC and #2 is from another file manager.

Feature Requests and Suggestions / Files before folders
« on: July 13, 2019, 13:22:26 »

I would like to have a "files before folders option" in the sorting settings.
I have folder called download which is used for all kinds of new stuff that have not yet been archived in the correct place.
This folder can sometimes contain many files and folders, due to lack of time.
The folder is therefore set to sort by creation date and to seperate files from folders.
The folders are far less used than the files, so it would be convenient to have the files on top (first), to prevent a lot of scrolling.
There is a tread about it here:
