Title: Drive letter from Drive list disappears on Volume unmount
Post by: avwtp on April 21, 2014, 04:10:24
I mount n-in-one card readers as a volume under a drive letter such as V:\Siig_CardReader.     When I pull the SD card from the card reader the drive letter disappears from the Tree View and the top toolbar drive list.     I need to exit MC and restart it to get drive back.    Of course Windows Explorer acts correctly in this case, nothing disappears, just the "Siig_CardReader" can't be read or entered.

The behavior is similar to when I eject a DVD from a drive - the DVD drive letter goes away until I put in a new DVD.    Unfortunately the alg needs to be smarter for mounted volumes under a drive letter.

It is kind of by design since the inserted volume is removed.
But it should come back when a new card is inserted.

(You can type :rdrive in the command line field to rebuild the drive lists.)

I use the command line trick to "see" the drive again but it still looks pretty funky.   No drive letter reappears up top or in the tree view.   See picture.

Strange. It works for me
I can't find any reason why it should not work for you..

That tree look really messed up.. you got drives inside V:  not sure how that can happen.

That's my other bug report.   I have a lot external drives (7 USB/1394 drives) mounted at V: root.

Believe me, the tree view is not very pretty or useful because of it.

BTW, and bit off topic but I REALLY LOVE how MC can traverse Junction points (and show them).    Yes, I use them too as does Win 7.
