Sorry, I didn't mean external viewers - I meant an internal viewer like the Quick View Panel you get with other commander clones such as Total Commander and FreeCommander which usually toggle with the Ctrl-Q key stroke.

One way might be to look at the methods (or even use directly) Universal Viewer.

Thanks! Small suggestion - how about

1. making this a sticky
2. reversing the build report order so that the latest is at the top avoiding the need to scroll down?

A built in viewer handling many different file types including pdf, jpg, avi etc would be really good - FreeCommander has this  ;)

I have just tested this with FreeCommander XE - by default it opens from the systray with a single click.

I have just tested this with FreeCommander XE - it handles re-opening from the systray perfectly, even when originally maximised in the secondary monitor on my XP machine.

Where do I find a list of what is new and/or fixed?

Today my Beta copy of MC updated to build 1481 but I couldn't find anywhere to tell me what are the new features or what bugs have been fixed.

OK, even if you don't want to provide user control over the 7-Zip options, please could you consider setting your internal methods to use the best compression options (Ultra+LZMA2)?

14
OK, I just learnt something  - thanks!

If you can't replicate on your Win7 boxes, is there some way I can help you to beta-test your fixes for this problem on my WinXP PC?

Feature Requests and Suggestions / Standard Explorer Context Menu
« on: August 23, 2013, 11:25:19 »
I discovered by accident that I can the standard Explorer Context Menu to appear by hitting Shift-F10, but there is no hint of this in the list of buttons even when holding down the Shift key.

Am I missing something - is there another way provided by MC for getting to this context menu?

I am experiencing the problem with a Windows XP dual monitor setup.

BTW - how do you manage to have taskbars on all your monitors?

18
Thanks, that would be good.

Are you using the 7-Zip DLL api or the external command line switches?

Sorry, I didn't give full details - if MC is maximized in the secondary window (which is bigger than the primary window due to lack of taskbar), then you get the problem I described.  If MC is just a normal window, then the problem does not happen.

21
It would be nice to be able to access MC from the systray with just one click like many other such apps - could this not be made at least a config option?

I just noticed a start up tip advising me to use the F2 key for refresh - trouble is that I have selected the Windows Exploder style, not the Norton Commander style!

Beta Releases / Reopen from systray problem

I have all the close/minimize etc options set to use the systray instead of the taskbar.

The problem is that if MC was opened in my secondary monitor (I have dual monitors), it does not re-open correctly when closed to the systray.  This problem does not happen when MC is opened/closed in the primary monitor.

I love the rich support for archive files in Multi Commander, but was disappointed that I could not find any config options to let me set the compression level (I prefer to use Ultra) nor the compression method (I like LZMA2) to get the best possible compression.

Beta Releases / Refresh problem in FTP

If you rename a site in the Site Manager, click save & close, the new name does not always appear until you refresh with F5.

More serious problem, if you do the above (but do not hit F5), and then right click on the (unchanged old) name and select Edit, nothing happens which is confusing.
