@Mathias?

I see the 10 year old problem https://forum.multicommander.com/forum/index.php/topic,1479.msg5333.html#msg5333 is still not resolved, now we have not only duplication but a triplication of directories

No it is nothing wrong with the disk

It is a know issue, That can happen very rarely on some system.
@Mathias I don't think it is normal to refresh the files each time you do something. It should be corrected to do all the refreshes automatically.

I know that full duplicate search between two folders is not supported, but what I want is somewhat different. I want the program to show me not the duplicates but file differences, i.e. the files that exist in right panel but not left, and vice versa. None of the duplicate searchers apps can do this, except WinMerge. Take a look at the screenshot to get the understanding how it looks like: each line has uniqueness attribute on the right column that shows either the file/folder exits only on the right, or on the left, or both. Pay attention that it works recursively.
I tried to achieve the same behavior with your folder comparison feature but failed to do so. It only shows file inside the folder, but doesn't go deeper. Is there a way to achieve the same comparison view like on my screenshot?

Any plugin to format big USB sticks/memory cards as FAT32 to overcome Windows limitation?

Support and Feedback / Non-greedy dot is not supported
« on: September 14, 2023, 09:06:44 »
Why non-greedy dot is not supported in Multi commander?
The regex
Code: [Select]
\s\(ASOT.*?\)| throws this error.

In this thread you say that MC has ECMA-complient Regex engine, and ECMA supports .? pattern perfectly. Why MC not?

UPDATE: even this pattern without non-greediness throws error
Code: [Select]
\s\(ASOT.*\)|
and this too
Code: [Select]
\s\(ASOT[^)]*\)|
The most odd thing that it is showing correct transformation in live preview but the error is thrown when I press Start to start the renaming

Support and Feedback / Re: Non-ASCII symbols packing bug

Thanks, it worked. I opened both in 7Zip and Windows Explorer and both recognized it correctly.
Why not to enable this setting by default?

When I pack files named in non-ASCII symbol set, your packer produces weird results.

Does MC have this feature? Can I find duplicate photos in two folders provided they have different names?

that is not a common case..

Very common case, on all my machines (physical and virtual). Even with 16Gb of RAM and fast SSD. Something is really wrong not with my setup but with your app.

6 instances of MC in the memory and no one on the taskbar! Horrible! It's extremely buggy and slows start.

I do not care it's virtual folder or physical, I cannot access it from MC so it's useless.

Mostly yes.

Nope, many of them

I cannot copy a file from partition to partition. The dialog simply stuck and do nothing. Both dirs are non-system so this is NOT an administrative problem.

Support and Feedback / Re: Search hidden files
« on: April 18, 2019, 23:16:42 »
It works, at least in v8.3.2469. Open search (via menu/hotkey/...), press [Advanced] button, go to [Date/Size/Attributes] tab, check Hidden attribute and start search.

Yep. It works, somehow I missed it.

Why does search not working for hidden files? Neither in search tool nor in the bottom box?

I wanna point out that MC icon should NOT be in tray at all, as it is disabled in settings. So it's double bug.

This doesn't work for long ago

Moreover, if I press tray icon it says "Do you want to exit" crashes if I press "Yes".

Here is the last crash ID

Thanks, variant with Multiscript type worked. And how to debug this hot path hotkey issue? Is it conflicting with smth? Can I reassign this combinations?

Well it doesn't work from hotkey. But it also doesn't work when put on panel. It seems something wrong with command configuration. Could you please review config screenshot from the first post?

The problem is that you can not assign Ctrl+H or that the command does not work ?

Both. I cannot assign (Ctrl-D brings nothing) and cannot call the assignment (Ctrl-1 - Ctrl-5 bring nothing as well).

Maybe it can't access the network path ? does it work if you change path to a local path?

Bot how to check it, when I can't define it? Is there GUI method for setting hot path except Ctrl-D?

And what can you say about User Defined Commands in the Menu Bar? Why it doesn't work?

I can say I have 0 indexing speed problems with the multiple SSD & SSHD drives on this machine when using MC.

And I already changed the second SSD and have the same problem.

Using different external hubs dramatically changes performance for me when connecting v 1.1 or v2.x to v3 ports.

We are not speaking here about USB sluggish performance. The thread was started about local SSD drive refresh issue.
