instead of closing a directory then renaming it..allowing rename on the tab itself will reduce the work..this can be done by adding a 'rename' item in the resulting list of options(the one with 'close tab', 'duplicate tab', etc..items) when right clicking a tab..if this won't work then a 'Rename' item in 'File' menu will do..another option is by slow double click on the tab..just like renaming a normal file or folder..
