F2 - File part rename

I was using another file explorer utility recently and accidentally learned that press F2 multiple times when renaming a file selects different parts of the file name. First click: Select File (same as MC). Second click: Select extension, Third Click: Select File AND extensions
Example:
Filename: TestFile.txt
1st: Select 'TestFile'
2nd: Select 'txt'
3rd: Select 'TestFile.txt'
This is a great feature I would love to see it in MC

1. It is possible to remap F2 to inline rename.
2. It is not possible to toggle Name/Ext selection via same key, however Ctrl+N/E selects name/ext respectively

Hmm Maybe..
problem is that the Rename action can be any key. So the "select next part" also needs to be map to the same key.
Not sure that will work, Maybe, I put it on my list to check if it is possible
