Strange button assingement

When copy file from one to another window i usually use ctrl-key to copy. but in mc i must use shift1 Usually this is for moving! the keyassignment is not equal to windows. Where can i chane it?

Also hitting "Alt" does not do what expected. It doeas not make a link.

What is the reason for that strange behavior?

Link is not support.
And Shift toggles the default choice of copy<>move

What is the reason to use a toggle key and not use the standard windows keys to modify drag an d drop? At least it has to be configurable.
