start in list mode?

Iangh:
Is there a way to default start MC in 'list' mode instead of 'details'?

I know that I can change the 'details' mode in settings but I want to keep 'details' as it is for the extra information - not remove any columns.

Select "List" in the ViewMode popup.
Last icon of the icon that are located after the Used/Free space text..
