Backup/Restore Config to different computer

(1/1)

blaszta:
I try to restore the backup config file but failed. My old system use 32-bit version of MC. My new computer use 64-bit version of MC. Can 32-bit backup config restored to 64-bit?

Mathias (Author):
It should work.

What fails ?  Any error message ?

Does it create the backup zip files ?

Does none of the files get restored or only some of them ?

What OS ?

Are any of them a portable installation ?

blaszta:
It actually works! I close MC and re-open again and boom.. my settings all restored! It just give error message something like "Fail to load the backup" but it gets the job done!

Again, thank you for the great app!

Btw, I use Windows 7 Pro 32-bit (old machine) and Windows 7 Pro 64-bit (new machine). All using standard installation. The backup is an xml file, I really don't know how to create zip backup file :)

And this is from the log file (just in case it help you):

Thanks.

Error 3. That is because it can not find the folder.

Will take a look at that.. and fix it for the next version.
