Multiple MC icons should "stack" in the task bar
(1/1)
MikeC:
Windows 7 OS.
When the task bar property "Taskbar buttons:" is set to "Always combine", multiple instances of the same program "stack" up under a single icon. See the green worm icon in the attached image. MC should exhibit this same behavior.

Multiple instances of MC do stack up.. But child windows like the fileviewer will have its own taskbar icon
MikeC:
Hmmmmmmmm...
Doesn't seem to be working for me unless I am misunderstanding something. Please see attached desktop image.
Mathias (Author):
If it is the same MultiCommander.exe that is started it should stack them unless you change some option in Windows 7 telling it not to.
The default behavior in Windows 7 is to stack them. It is possible for window to opt out if that. And the only window that does that are the Copy progress windows and FileViewer window.
but the Main window should always be stack.
Unless Windows settings preventing it or if the two instances are not the same .exe from the same path.
MikeC:
I figured out why.
Key thing I noticed was that sometimes they stacked, sometimes not.
What you said about the Main windows always stacking was the clincher.
The reason my MCs don't always stack is that I'm frequently launching them with different parameters specifying different .ini files. If I launch multiple MCs with the same parameters, they stack as expected, but in their own stack which is different than the Main window stack.
Not the behavior I would want from Microsoft.
Sorry to have bothered you with this non-problem.
