MC is using the SHA-256/512 support that is provide by Windows. It might be that it is not supported or enabled by default in Windows 7

It might work if you install the SHA-2 Update for Windows 7 that is released  (SHA-2 contains hash for SHA256/512 and more)
Not sure if it is this update https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4474419/sha-2-code-signing-support-update

I think it is not supported in Win7. I will added so it will log the error to applog for next version. So can we see
