Trailing text in files after crash

MC v9.7 build 2590

Multiple separated copy processes where busy when mc crashed.
After the crash I noticed that some files at the destination folders where larger than the source file.
I appeared that those files in the destination folders had the same content as the source file with some trailing text behind the end.

What could be the reason for this ?

It only appends data to files if that was selected when file already exists dialog is shown.
