Show hidden folders and files
« on: February 21, 2012, 11:45:05 »
It seems that, unfortunately, to activate the "Show hidden folders and files" option it needs to go to the Window's Folder Options again ... I suggest that to integrate the most common used features inside MC otherwise the continuous switching between MC and Windows Explorer makes it boring and tedious. Thanks.

The setting for that in Windows Explorer does not affect how MultiCommader works.

MC has its own settings for that.

To show hidden/system files in Multi Commander you need to go to

Menu > Configuration > Explorer Panel Settings > Kayout(tab) > Show/Hide special files and folders (catagory)
and then check "Show hidden files and folders" and also "Show system files and folders" (if you need to )

Is there a shortcut to toggle showing of hidden/system folders and files?

If not, that would be my feature request.

Also it would be good if those files/folders were of a different color.

Not so you can toggle it on/off with a button. You have to go into Explorer Panel Settings and enable/disable it.

Also it would be good if those files/folders were of a different color.
That can be configured in Explorer Panel Settings.

Do you mean that setting or can I actually place a button for toggling that somewhere in the main interface?
I know about the setting, but something more quickly accessible would be better.

You mean under Colors? I don't see it..

Layout tab

Category "Show/Hide Special files and Folder" a bit down.

I know that setting.
What I meant was, I'd like to have a different color for system/hidden files&folders. Sorry if I wasn't very clear. FreeCommander has that option, for example.

Ahhh okey now I understand.

Right new you can only have custom colors based on filename but im working on a system where you can defined custom colors rules based on more properties and then it will be possible to set a custom colors for hidden/system files.
