Press F7 to create a new folder on my local C: drive under my DOWNLOADS folder.  Nothing happens. No prompt. No dialog pops up. Nothing.

In the stable release, you can press F7 (MakeDir) get this dialog (see attachment).  For example, after I press F7 then I can type in ZZZ and click OK and a new folder called ZZZ is created.  In the beta, I am not prompted for anything. I did a clean install, too. How/where do I access the log?

Not sure what you're talking about dots. Sometimes after I preview/post here, the forum editor scrambles the content. I had to edit and remove the formatting then reapply the numbered list format.

Have you tried without restoring backup ?  maybe there are some configuration conflict, Just Download portable version and start it and without customizing anything.. does that work ?

I am using MC in the Beta version, and since a few updates, "Makedir(F7)" in the Button Panel no longer works. It is simply dead. No response at all. I find this very unfortunate. Perhaps a fix?

Is it only the button on the button panel. ?  Do the Actual F7 key works ? The Create Folder icon on the toolbar ?  Menu > Tools Create Folder ?

Do all places not work. or only some ?

Anti-Bacterial:

Only the button on the button panel FAILS.  The F7 key, the Create Folder icon on the toolbar, and "Menu > Tools Create Folder" work successfully. I am on beta 16.0 build 3181 64-bit Windows desktop edition.

While we are on this topic...
Is it possible to customize the create folder icon on the button panel to create a new folder using this format: YYYY-MM-DD HH-MM-SS. I want to combine the [d] and [t] variables in one step. Can this be done? The parameters I am using only create the date. I want to combine multiple variables, ie: date and time together.

Ahhhh So then it is the Custom command MC.Explorer.Makedir script command that fails. since the button connects to that. That narrow it down.

IN the button panel you can assign custom command (like MC.Explorer.Makedir and you customize them.) For make this you now have support for creating folder using template...  click the [+] button next to input field in dialog and you see tags you can add.. then copy paste this template to the custom command for the MakeDir and use it there.
