Request - upgrade Simple Machines Forum software to newest version 2.1.7

(1/1)

Anti-Bacterial:

Multicommander support forum uses old version SMF 2.0.19 and there are bugs in the editor. The latest release of Simple Machines Forum 2.1.7

I would like to suggest updating to the latest SMF version because as I have mentioned before, there are display issues when using the WYSIWYG HTML editor. You commented on this yourself last month in this thread: https://forum.multicommander.com/forum/index.php/topic,5189.0.html

Specifically, when I compose a post and create numbered lists or bulleted lists, the font is changed to a tiny size which is unreadable. I thought it was my browser at first, but this seems to be a known SMF bug. Upgrading to SMF 2.1.7 should fix this bug, and offer other improvements, described here:

Here are backup and upgrade instructions from the online manual:

There are also more themes available which look prettier. It's free so there is no cost.
Thank you for all that you do. MC is the best!

Oh yes.., I been wanting to upgrade for a while.
But the problem is that there are some plugin/module used that blocks auto upgrades so I have to do a reinstall and reconfiguration of everything and migrate everything, .. and that is a very big job that takes at least the whole day at least. its really messy. But I probably will have to do it soon.. or I just reinstall and clear everything out... Problem is that I want to move entire forum to a docker instance.. But Im not sure it is supported.

Well it will give you a challenge this summer.  Go for it while you are at the beach!  :)
