Problem with move
« on: July 13, 2026, 21:30:18 »
Similar issue is during moving folder with files. I'm not able to abort operation. Additionally if I move folder to target panel where we have the same folder, files are moved but folder remains in source panel. If there is a lot folders MC is preparing to move operation for a long time and nothing happend. Sometimes there is an error displayed, files are moved but folders remain. There is something wrong with folders operation I'll continue testing.

Lets keep the issues separate..  move the post to own thread.

what build 3190 ? I can't reproduce any issue doing an abort of move operation.

if I move folder to target panel where we have the same folder, files are moved but folder remains in source panel.
Will check. Move of folder is skipped since it already exists.. so kind of not a bug. But I guess it should be delete anyway.

If there is a lot folders MC is preparing to move operation for a long time and nothing happend. Sometimes there is an error displayed, files are moved but folders remain. There is something wrong with folders operation I'll continue testing.
OK not very specific on what is happening and what the issue is.. So not much to go on..  If you see it again. check fileoperations logs (ctrl+L)

I've sent you my file operation logs, maybe it support you with finding the issue please check the email.
Some logs are quite heavy over 15MB and you can find errors  there, it seems that MC would like to repeat move operation but there are no files because all of them were already moved.
I think the app is stuck in some kind of loop

I'm testing new version and see that there is an error window showed when you move folder to target destination where you have the same folder with the same files (duplicated), so MC asks if overwrite of course, but after clicking skip (skip all) MC shows window with error that source folder is not empty and can't be removed. Why MC would like to delete folder if we skipped moving all the files from it?

As I wrote in my previous post:
1. Two folders with the same name and files inside but in different locations.
2. When you would like to move from first location to second one to overwrite the folder
3. MC asks if overwrite folder and all files which are inside it
4. Press Skip all
5. MC of course doesn't move files and leave them in folder which we wanted to move, but displays error that folder is not empty and can't be deleted.

From my side this error should not be visible becuase we skipped folder and all files.

If you previous post contained all information I needed then I would be able to reproduce it.
Yes. Different locations.. so not same drive..  I can't reproduce any error when moving to different drives, just like before.

Sorry but this is so annoying..  That is kind of important information to provide when talking about move. since Move on same drive is same as Rename.
That is why providing steps to reproduce is important. That would have saved me 2h from trying to find an error when moving on different drives..
