BTW If I may ask a subquestion - how can I set the different background color for even and odd rows?
Configuration > Explorer Panel Settings > Colors
Check Override standart Windows background, Alternating Background color. Then choose desired colors.

Where do s.493-499 lines in Application.MultiCommander Core used? I can't find. Also no comments on h__p://multicommander.com/LanguageChanges

Btw, why are Shortcuts again included in text? I thought they are now added automatically.

1. Is it possible to disable the behaviour of switching tabs on dragging files? Or maybe include modifier (ctrl/alt/shift).

When i drag files to the quicklaunch and mouse is over other tab, that tab becomes active.

---

2. Will it be possible to pass multiple files to quicklaunch buttons?

---

3. Space key selects files/folders and calculates folder size. Is it possible to make it move cursor down like Insert does?

Is it normal that back, forward and history buttons (at the left of the command line) have no focus rectangle on mouse over?

Well, i don't try to change your mind :) I like the possibility to perform several simultaneous searches. You're right, everything should be easy. And efficient.

[irony] It just makes me sad when i see an application with single empty form that does nothing and has size ~1Mb. :) And i can't understand how the hell 2GHz CPU + 1Gb RAM + 128Mb video can not be enough for playing Tetris or 8-bit style game! [/irony]

100..??
Mistake of course.   :(
Well, good and bad are subjective. Performance and resources consuming are what is really important and what can be measured and compared. I can say nothing about smartphones since i've never had one, but i definitely prefer to have one phone for all my contact list rather than lots - phone per contact   :)

459
(And if it is never shown then it is never fully created, and does not take up any resources)
If i want to always see a tree, it means that it will be created for every tab. And for 10 tabs on each side there will be 100 trees? But since there is always one visible active tab on each panel, it means that actually only 2 trees needed.

460
Press the tree button or Alt+Num* to toggle it.  by default it is always off.
So each tab has its own tree? Or just some attribute? I think each explorer panel should have only one tree and it should be either always visible for all tabs or always hidden.

The column customizations are also lost on restarts.
Save layout as default from column context menu and it will remain after restart

Beta Releases / Multi Commander 2.6 BETA - Build 1142 - Bugs
« on: July 27, 2012, 06:29:49 »
Bugs.

1. When 24x24 icons selected for explorer panel, icons overlap each other and filenames overlap icons.
2. If Quicklaunch bar (standalone) was hidden via menu View->Toolbars, it is shown after MC restart.
3. If Drives toolbar was hidden via menu View->Toolbars, it is shown again after Language change and MC restart.

---

Request. If "Forward keys to commandline" option enabled and Commandline bar is hidden, automaticaly show it when user types text and hide it again after command execution.

Look here

This set looks pretty, full set 16x16 ... 128x128, LGPL

And Glaze collection contains scalable *.svgz files. I think it's optimal

Icon size support for toolbars is great. But it seems that some internal icons are 16x16, so they look bad with higher size set in options. Is it planned to upgrade them for 2.6 final?

4. Language editor / Resore / Select a file to load.
If Cancel pressed in File open dialog, MC shows message that language was successfully restored. Don't know if it is actually restored.

1. Picture viewer stretch does not always work correctly (see pics)

2. Localization.

a. Explorer panel s.435 "Selection status area" is translatable, but always displayed in english.
b. List elements "Show free space", "Show used space" for free space area are untranslatable
c. "View filter", "Network" and "Network browse method" are also untranslatable.

3. It is not always possible to open folders in the list by double click

---

Also with drive dropdown list disabled it is inconvenient to go to ftp, net or reg. One have to type "net:", "reg:", "ftp:" in the path field. Maybe add these buttons to drive buttons panel?

Concerning .ISO, .CAB, wlx, wcx... On the one side, there are a lot of plugins, so internal TC-plugins support could make MC development easier in the future.

On the other side, implementing such support might become just a waste of time since there are already at least 2 filemanagers supporting wlx and wcx (Unreal Commander, Double Commander).

I think you may just release own plugin sdk and concentrate on other global ideas. Step by step (maybe some vote again?). From my point of view, there's no need in fourth Total Commander. IMHO it is impossible to create something truly perfect that can completely satisfy everyone.

1. File types setup.

- Press [Add]
- Type something in "Program parameters" and "File extensions"
- Press [...] to Select program
- Choose program and press OK.

Result: "Program parameters" and "File extensions" fields are cleared.

2. There are no translation strings for "Core Settings > Filesystem > Network"

IMHO there is no need at all to separate focus/select settings for different conditions.
Although i don't know how the coloring is currently handled, it seems to me that a difference can't be dramatic as long as file panel shows limited amount of files. Moreover, coloring might be cached in some way. E.g. when the items are shown in panel at first time, they are compared (with color template) and template IDs are saved in some table. Then later there would not be need in comparing.

471
I like how coloring is done in "alternative file manager", where color scheme is just a search template. So there's no need to separate e.g. files and folders settings - all flags (incl. system/hidden) could be chosen in template. But at least one thing could be improved: a possibility to check/uncheck color templates. So if i have 100 templates i can choose which to use for coloring because using them all could waste a lot of resources and time and make MC slow and unresponsive.

And you don't have to think about parameters a user may set. If somebody sets all colors to white and get blank panel - it's not you problem. Everyone should be careful. Moreover, it is always possible to reset settings to defaults.

P.S. I like the idea of applying font style. E.g. italic. Though the perfomance tests shoud be done :)

472
it would be nice, even if "Alternating background color" and "override standard windows background" are checked, selected files and focused files could keep their own background colors (perhaps as an option).
Maybe i misunderstand you, but it is already possible (see pic)

Look at the attached pic.

There are 2 columns. And extensions in the 2nd column aren't visible. In "other file manager" there is a solution:
when you move file cursor to the 2nd column, the first column is gone and the second takes its place. The rest files are then in the new 2nd coumn. And when you reach the last file in the directory, there will be only one column.
