Hi,

Recently I've been starting to see slowness with MC just doing basic functions like browsing folder or dragging files. An activity that can take about 20 secs is just switching MC from one monitor to another - when it does this I do get a "Not Responding" message in the title bar temporarily while it catches up.

I saw mention of users enabling the Debug log to investigate - where is that stored once enabled?

I am running v7.7 (build 2404) where I've noticed this happening but it has been a while since an update was released so it could be changes I've made on my system.

Thanks.

Tapatalk basically provides better mobile access to forums. It has dedicated apps for iOS, Android etc and provides direct push notifications via the app when posts are responded to etc. For me nearly all the forums I visit have Tapatalk support and it provides one place to go to check and read (via the app) when I'm on the move.

I notice there isn't a mobile view for the forum currently so its a nice option to consider. I'm not sure what the impact is to a forum owner. The "free" option mentions Advertising Revenue Sharing so not sure if that means you would need to have banner ads on the forum or not.

Support and Feedback / Re: Saving tabs on OS shutdown

Ok great - its more about ensuring any open are saved as oppose to aborting any file operations. Hopefully it makes it into the stable channel soon.

Feature Requests and Suggestions / Tapatalk support for forum

It would be nice to add Tapatalk support for the forum to allow for better mobile access, I believe they have a Simple Machines plugin.

@bison

FWIW, it is bad practice to shut down a PC without closing all open apps...   :-\

:) Yes I know - its more of a gripe around the implementation of the "Minimize to tray instead of closing". Not only does it disable the window close button (instead of minimizing to tray) but you would expect if it is in the systray a system shutdown would result in MC saving its settings before exiting. I'm sure no one goes through all their systray apps and closes them all individually before shutting down their PC?

Support and Feedback / Re: Drive Dropdown menu

While we are discussing the Drive Dropdown Menu, is there a setting to force MC to go the root folder when selecting a location from the Drive Dropdown menu? I find MC keeps going to the last location accessed on the drive when selecting a location from the dropdown and not the root.

Support and Feedback / Saving tabs on OS shutdown
« on: July 25, 2017, 13:15:48 »
Hi,

I have MC set to "Minimize to tray instead of closing" and hence it stays open the whole time I have my computer running. However I find when I shutdown my computer the tabs I have open are not saved. It will only load the tabs from when I physically when to File > Exit not when a OS (forced) shutdown occurs. Is there any way fix this or is it just the nature of having this setting enabled? Is there an AutoSave feature that could save the tabs in the background every few mins?

Feature Requests and Suggestions / Tab Management
« on: July 21, 2016, 15:55:31 »
Hi,

It would be great if MC had the following features:

  • Ability to order tabs alphabetically - so if you have a lot of tabs open you could right click a tab and be able to sort the order they are displayed
  • Ability to change the mouse over text on tabs - so if you have a lot of tabs open and your screen is small instead of just seeing "..." you could set it so when you mouse over it just shows the tab name not the full path which it does now

Support and Feedback / Filter Editor Problems
« on: November 22, 2015, 17:54:57 »
Hi,

Thanks for adding the Advanced Filter feature [v5.8 b2040], I appreciate its still under development.

I'm having a couple of problems using the Filter Editor.

Filter vs Rule
1. Am I right in assuming that one Filter can have many Rules?

Setting up a filter
2. If I set up a filter and want to exclude a file using the "Name part" and "Is" options it keeps toggling back to "Fullname" and "Wildcard" as soon as I save the Rule. Is this a bug?

3. Can you only have one Rule per Filter? i.e. can I not mix different rules, "Name part", "Full name" within the same Filter?

Editing a filter
4. What does the box at the bottom of the Filter Editor labeled "Rule Name" supposed to do. There is a button with "*." which doesn't seem to do anything. Is the plan to use this to edit rules so you can delete a rule within a Filter? There doesn't appear to be a way to edit an existing Filter.

Support and Feedback / Re: Lock Tab Feature - ability to reset

Thanks Mathias!!

I'm a bit of newbie when it comes to creating buttons. How do I create one using the new 'go to root' command?

Thanks Mathias

Sorry I wasn't very clear - let me explain it better.

Say I have a tab open at C:\Folder A and have enabled Lock Tab - Allow subpath change on that tab.

I then browse to C:\Folder A\Folder B\Folder C - I would like a button on the button bar that I could press to switch the view back to C:\Folder A (the folder where the lock is set).

Is that possible? Crash+Burn mentioned it here - he calls at Goto Root function which probably better describes it.

Support and Feedback / Lock Tab Feature - ability to reset
« on: August 21, 2015, 22:32:25 »
Hi,

I love the Lock Tab - Allow subpath change feature. Is there a way to set a button (ideally linked to a Fn key) that I could press to reset the tab back to the locked path if I have been browsing sub paths?

Thanks.
