Feature Requests and Suggestions / Show, filter and search by ebook metadata

Over the years my collection of ebooks has grown considerably. In addition, these days one can capture web pages, articles, etc to ebook formats for reading later which further adds to such collections. Tools like Calibre are good but I just need the simplicity and speed of seeing and using ebook metadata in my file manager to search, sort, tag and filter my ebook files.
