Dear Mathias,

Keeping with my tendency to minimize the user interface (and maximize room for content on small screens), I'd like to hide all the toolbars outside the Explorer Panel (outside tabs), as I tend to use keystrokes for most of the functions that the buttons in those toolbars offer.

However, there are a few buttons that would be useful to keep (such as a quick access to the calculator or the notepad). I wonder if in future versions we could perhaps move buttons of our choice over to the inside of the tab in the Explorer Panel--as there's still plenty of space alongside the device dropdown list. This could be a useful way to help users create their own customized interface, keeping only the buttons that they really need.

Thank you again for your fantastic work and attention to detail. All the best,
Andras

Hi Mathias,

In MultiCommander, as in most other file managers, when I hold down the shift key and move up or down my list of files, they become selected. However, when I move over them again, and holding down the shift key I try to deselect some of them, nothing happens, they remain selected. I either have to keep pressing the space bar for each and every file that I want to deselect, or use the right mouse button. This is a minor inconvenience, but an inconvenience nonetheless. I'd like to inquire why we can't deselect files the same way we select them (and the same way we can deselect them in almost every other two-pane file manager), and if deselecting with shift + arrow could be implemented in future versions.

Yours truly,
Andras

Feature Requests and Suggestions / Auto-Hide Tab Bar and Status Bar
« on: August 09, 2016, 13:00:37 »
Hi Mathias,

I saw other users bringing this up, but not as a specific feature request.

I like to keep my user interface as minimal as possible, and generally, I don't use more than one tab, and most often there are no ongoing operations that would reside in the status bar. This makes 2 bars lingering at the bottom of my window with no practical use for them.

If you could create an option in future versions to auto-hide the tab bar when there is only one tab open, and auto-hide the status bar when no actions are being performed, that would make MultiCommander my absolute number one choice.

Thank you for the wonderful work you've put into this file manager.

Best,
Andras
