Thanks. Hope something can be done to rectify this in the future.

So this issue is occurring time and again after connecting my external HDD to my laptop. I'm literally seeing multiple entries for the same file when i switch to a folder. This happens for video files in external HDD and have attached a screenshot here.

Feature Requests and Suggestions / Toolbar customization
« on: December 24, 2013, 03:57:10 »
Is it possible to add/delete new items to the toolbar...If not adding this feature in the future will be a huge thing, as it already exists in other file managers.

What language did you use to create MC?

I know that MC mostly focus on features and I love that, and I'd have no problems with the current interface if I was still using Windows XP and MC would look fine on it. But with Windows 7 raising the bar for the UI looks, it's just that I feel improvements can be made in this regard.

Feature Requests and Suggestions / Re: Icons View?

That'll limit the usability as we'll have to change the view all the time and there is a big difference between the two views. Moreover it's not going to be easy for beginner users, as they care a lot for usability.

If you look at this screenshot these are the view modes available in FC and UE. The View modes can be easily changed.

The lack of different view modes in MC is only one of the few gripes I have.

This is the Icons View in UltraExplorer. FreeCommander XE also has this.

Feature Requests and Suggestions / Interface Overhaul?

This maybe just me, but I think Multi Commander's interface has become a little old fashioned. I would love to see an overhaul in the interface and make it more attractive.

Support and Feedback / Re: Compare Folders (Synchronize)

I was referring to the synchronize function that's available in another freeware manager Master Commander which I was using earlier. And also how do I compare contents in Multi Commander?

How do I compare the contents of two folders?

This is one of the features that I loved to have in Multi Commander after coming from xplorer2lite which had this feature. This is useful when we want to see details of the files on one pane (files that are to be copied) while this is not necessary for the other pane to which it's to be copied.

Hey, I would like to have this feature where the icon sizes on the left pane is large and that of the right pane is small and in detailed view.

Support and Feedback / Re: No Tiles/Icons View

I wonder if I used the wrong word. Here I mean zip folders to be having a "zip" icon, mp3 files to have icon of it's corresponding associated player, image icons to have icons of the image viewer on my PC. In Large Icons all appears just white, while in Small Icons view it's showing correctly.

Thanks but choosing large icons seems to mess the thumbnails. Will there be a fix?

In the View mode, I can only see "Details" and "List" view. Isn't there an Icon view like Large Icons and Small Icons? That's a feature I really want.

Also how do I setup so that I can see the preview of items on the right pane? For example for images.
Previews are not supported yet. it is coming

Thanks, would be great to see this feature soon. It's definitely something most needed.  :)

There are actually two default layouts Commander styled and Windows Explorer styled.

Explorer styled does that. But it is just a settings.. so Go to
Menu > Configuration > Explorer Panel Settings > Layout (tab)

Under the "Selection and Checking of items" category Uncheck "Auto uncheck files and folder when single selecting"

Am using Multicommander style layout. Is it the same?

I just downloaded the program today and many thanks for this amazing program. I'm definitely in love with it.  ;D I just have a question though.

I'm using the default layout and I can select various items through right click, but how do I deselect all of them at once? I mean usually I have to right click again on all these items to deselect one by one. Isn't there a one click option to deselect all selected items?

Any kind of help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance :-)
