Support and Feedback / 7-zip compression level
« on: February 24, 2012, 09:50:49 »
First of all thank you so very much for including 7-zip packing. It's kickassawesomeeeeeeeee!!! In TC I had tried to set it up with plugins but it lacked a progress bar which for longer compressions made it totally unusable as it felt like the computer froze up. So, thank you sooooooooo very much! One question though: what compression level is it set on? Can it be changed? It seemed to me like it's at least normal, if not maximum, in which case it's great for me, but was wondering if I missed it somewhere. Thank you!

Support and Feedback / selection reset on folder change?
« on: February 24, 2012, 09:46:00 »
At first I found it very confusing that files would remain selected when I get out of a folder and come back, then I thought it might be a cool feature once I get used to it, but I'm now afraid the risk is too high of deleting files I once selected earlier leading to compulsive Ctrl-D pressing. Is there a place where I can set this to default? Thank you!

Support and Feedback / closing unpacking progress window
« on: February 24, 2012, 09:40:42 »
Sorry if it's there but I just can't find it: is there a way to set the progress window to close automatically after unpacking a set of files instead of having to then manually click close?

Feature Requests and Suggestions / Re: Multiple columns
« on: February 24, 2012, 09:26:10 »
Yes, that's what I had done to reduce some of the visual clutter. Can't wait for multiple files per row, excited to hear it's high on the priority list. thank you!!!

Hey, thank you so very much for your fast and very useful reply! Hotpaths are close enough to what I needed that for me now it's good enough to switch. Thank you so much! Means a lot to me!

Thank you!

Feature Requests and Suggestions / Quick favorite folders
« on: February 23, 2012, 18:31:25 »
If there is one feature I find MC is still missing and which is stopping me from abandoning TC completely for that long awaited switch it would be this one: it is a huuuuge productivity booster. Basically what I'm doing thousands of times per day is Ctrl+D to open a quick floating menu and then typing one or two letters to select from that list one of my favorite folders. This speeds up HDD navigation 5x at least for me, since most of the time I'm doing operations to and from a certain small set of favorite folders, or nexus points. Please pleeeeeeeeeeeease pleeeease implement this feature! This would be IMHO the biggest thing that could be added to the awesomeness that is already MC. Thank you so very much in advance! (is there any way to subscribe for when this feature might be implemented to get an instant notification that I may upgrade, even if it's a super beta?)

As a quick example I would do
Shortcut, D - I'm transported to my downloads folder
Shortcut, T - i'm transported to my temporary folder
Shortcut, W - I happily teleport to my work related files folder
and so on. Hugely hugely practical and fast.

As for how the naming is done that's also ingenious as the name of the destination folder doesn't even have to start with that letter, so for example a folder named E&xample would have as it's key X, not E.

Thank you so very much in advance! I so want to make MC my new center of command for me, my wife and all the friends I'm recommending a sped up workflow to :D

Feature Requests and Suggestions / Multiple columns
« on: February 23, 2012, 18:27:23 »
Hi. Since this is my first post I would like to also say a huuuuge thank you to the developers. This program is the answer to my prayers for many years. Thank you so much for making such a great too free for us productivity oriented people! THANK YOU!

So, what I wanted to ask for is the ability to have multiple columns of files (I found 3 is best for me). There seems to be some issue with MC remembering unchecked properties (i usually just need the file & extensions columns), but I was able to fix that with a customized column set, but I have found no way to make 3 columns of filenames in one tab. If I'm missing it and it can be tuned to do that I apologize for not noticing (how!?!? :D )
