Support and Feedback / Re: [Closed] Can't delete Onedrive folders
« on: January 01, 2025, 13:37:14 »
Ok. Then I assume that is was issue with another program have files open.

27
Scenario
- user downloads a file (https://mirror.yandex.ru/mirrors/MX-Linux/MX-ISOs/MX/Snapshots/MX-23.4_December_KDE.iso)
- user also downloads the checksum for the above file (https://mirror.yandex.ru/mirrors/MX-Linux/MX-ISOs/MX/Snapshots/MX-23.4_December_KDE.iso.sha512)

Observed behavior
- MC does not recognize hash file extensions other than *.md5

Requested behavior
- please add other extensions, like *.sha, *.sha1,*.sha256, *.sha512. So the user can check the *.iso by pressing <Enter> on the hash file.
I will check. can probably be added

This extension is using an old way to connect it self to file extension. It should really be updated to use FileType Setup system instead. but that require lots more rewrites.
So for a first step I might be able to add so it trigger on the *.sha## extensions too.

should be there in 14.5

According to Zip Spec, Entries with no data should not be packed. Many do it. Zip is like wild west. No one cares about the spec. But MC do not have that control.  It is up to the 3rd party lib that MC is using. I can check if they added support for it.

30
MC do not have any control over those Windows things. In the context menu all MC does is to tell Windows to use command X from the context menu with this files that are sent to it.
Might be that that window require a more tighter connection to the windows shell.. some Windows features do that. but since MC is not built on-top of the Windows Shell, it cannot do that.

I can't reproduce it. I have no issue delete things under onedrive.

Maybe some shell extension or something have some handle to some folders open, that cause it to fail to delete them.

But. Is there files left in the folders that is say are not empty? Or are they empty?
If you run Delete twice.. does it remove the folder it say was not empty ?

Might be that something has that folder open or something.
Might be more info in the Filesystem log (Ctrl+L)

33
I don't even get that option in Windows Explorer so I don't know.
Might be that it is very tight connected to Windows Shell. Most Windows tool works without the Windows Shell, some does not. and MC is not built on top of windows Shell.
But Don't know. I never seen that option in the popup menu.

same as other post about one drive..
I can't find any issue with it.. I can delete without any issues.
What error do you get.. Any error message ? error code in log ?

35
I can't replicate that. I get a Window that popup from Onedrive if I select Share where I can get a link and set some permissions

36
I can't reproduce that..
MC do not have a direct connection to onedrive, It is using the filesystem layer Windows has for the onedrive folder. So MC see it just as normal files.

Are the file synced offline ?
or are they just fake place holder files ?

ah then the error was not about a specific folder . It was becuse there was a lot of files in that folder.
Ok good that that solved the issue

I'm not able to reproduce that..
How Do I create a folder that is not shown ?
Is it a folder you create your self or did some app create it ?
What phone is it.. iPhone or Android ?
if android what android. Google Pixel ? Samsung XX ? or what type and model ?

Also you can enable log-output that list all objects that WPD finds
Go to Menu > Configuration > FileSystem Plugin Settings > FS-Portable
And Enabled everything under "Extended logging"
It should log everything it find under each folder to App Log (Ctrl+L),
Is the missing folder listed there ? or is does it report of any error and skipped items when listing the folder that should contain it ?

Beta Releases / Re: v14.5 BETA
« on: December 22, 2024, 20:21:25 »
With latest Beta I've problem using ftp server. All was working fine before update.
Now when I want to use a ftp-server and double click on an item, nothing happened. Must use context menu - edit - connect
Connection is possbile but cannot enter any folder with mouse or keyboard. Any hints?

This should also be fixed in the 3053 build

This worked in 14.4 ?
There as been no changed to the 3rd party zip code.. But I will check

Hello! Thanks for replying.

I didn't have the old version anymore, haha, but trying to find more info on this, so:
- I redownloaded Multi Commander v14.4 (Build 3047) (32 bit)
- used 14.4 to recreate the archive with the exact dataset as with 14.5 BETA
It's exactly the same result, the archive is corrupted.

One more clue, in both 14.4 and 14.5 I used "Internal zip (max)" from Packer profiles.
Try beta build 3053. I think I found the issue

If you do any modification to the buttons in the button editor in MC.. that file is rewritten.. and manual changes will be overwritten

When updating to new version.
the file under your profile is not change
This file is changed.. C:\Program Files\MultiCommander (x64)\Config\MultiButtons.xml
This is used and copied to the user profile if you do not have that file already.

Update 1
Redid the compression with 14.4 with "Internal zip (normal)" packer profile - still creating corrupted archive.

Update 2
Redid the compression with 14.4 with "7-zip" packer profile - the archive is valid.

Zip and 7Zip are totally different. even if both are called "zip"  7Zip have nothing to do with zip, Different 3rd party libraries that handle that

Ok so Old issue. nothing that is unique to 14.5  Ok then It should been posted in other section.. but ok..

I have only tested to zip 2 5G files. together so that worked. so might be some combination of things. will do more test later

Just updated to 14.5 build 3051 BETA.

There are problems creating valid zip archives of larger sizes.

I needed to compress about 7 GiB of data and after finishing I opened the archive and I noticed I cannot find all my files in the newly created archive.
I tried to reproduce with another data, 5 GiB. The same results, not all files are found in the archive.
MC can open the archives and reports their size correctly. I know this because my files were not very compressible.

I used Double Commander to check the resulting MC archives and DC cannot open them, but DC can create valid archives out of exactly the same data.

Can somebody reproduce this? Just select some files until you make up about 5-7 GiB and then Alt + F5 and <Enter>.

This worked in 14.4 ?

Something special with it ? or something else that are unique ?, Do you have option on to show hidden file ? I Don't know if folders on phone can have attribute set so folders is hidden.
I don't know why it does not work for you. I cannot reproduce that error
MC is not talking to to phone by it self, It is using the Window portable device API , So it is using Windows Built in support for WPD. So there is not much room for doing something different. So I don't know why some folder is not shown

So if you modify anything on the buttons inside MC. and  MultiButtons.xml is saved , Maybe the manual edits will be overwritten ?

47
Like the Preview Panel ? (Shift+Alt+Q (Toggle on/off) , or press the second toolbar button after the color wheel )

48
When you click restore. all your custom changes go away.
and there should be multiple items for the MCPictureViewer.

49
Not something I have seen happen.

If you have multiple instances open. they can overwrite each other if you do changes in both of them.

When does it happen? Reproducible ?

When modifying the file manually. like when editing the font/size in the MultiButtons.xml file
