You can save a Tab Session, and when reopened, the same panel will be highlighted as it was when saved.

Hello, I have a strange problem that I haven't found in the forum so far. When I connect an Android smartphone (Samsung) to a Windows 10 PC via USB, a specific folder in the DCIM directory is not displayed in Multi Commander. In other file managers (Windows Explorer, FreeCommander, xplorer2, Total Commander, etc.), the directory is always shown. I have not set any display filters.
Additionally, I have the problem that I can copy files from the smartphone to the PC but cannot move them.
I think Multi Commander is otherwise the best file manager. Does anyone know what could be causing this?
Hello Mathias,I created such a menu myself. You need to create a user-defined command for each tab session and then add them to a custom menu. Creating such a user-defined command is done using the "Internal Commands" setting. Select the module "MultiCommander base," and then, under "Command," you can find the tab sessions along with other commands. The entries start with "Session." @Dev: Why are this commands not listed in alphabetical order? While reading this list i was confused.
it would be nice if there was a button that would provide a drop down like the sub-menu in the File > Tab Sessions sub menu (see picture).
I tried to find an internal command that would pop that menu to make a user defined command (UDC) that would pop it directly, but I did not find any.
regards, m.
Is it possible to have 3 screens (panels) in MC to show the contents of 3 drives at the same time? No. But you can use multiple instances and switch between windows with Alt+Tab, or you can use tabs.
I've had the setting below active for a long time, but it still happens that MultiCommander only shows one column and hides the rest – or splits the columns completely nonsensically.I simply disabled 'Autosize Columns' because I didn't like how it worked.
Is there anything I can adjust better?
I never seen that. In what situations is it happening. Is is reproducible ?Yes, I can reproduce the issue every day by starting with a batch file; most often, all instances run in the background and are not displayed in the taskbar.
Nevermind I added all my Quick Access folders to the Button PanelHow about using MC Tab Sessions instead of buttons on the Button Panel or Windows Quick Access?
Then I hope you at least have 20% free memory at all the time. Without a swap Windows cannot move stuff around in memory to free up large chunks if a program request a larger size of memory.. then you can cause a crash becuse of no memory even if you got several gigs free.. just becuse it did not find a large enough block free. Also windows cannot use memory for caching as much.I currently have 32 GB of RAM and only need that much RAM when I use a RAMDisk. A swap file just tortures the SSD. At the next system upgrade, I will upgrade to 64 GB of RAM.
Like disabling swap, This is a cause of many crashes..I always disable the swap file...
crash reportThere is no crash report because the MultiCommander instance is terminated without any message. The window closes, and the executable is terminated without any message. I have no preview software installed in Windows, and some services may be disabled. I use Adobe Reader and ABBYY FineReader for PDFs. It would be better for MultiCommander to operate independently and not rely on Windows features that may be disabled by users.
MC got its own preview panel, and there you can preview images/pdf and more insida a tab..This does not work properly. All my PDFs are displayed as empty, and while testing, MultiCommander crashed and was killed. DXF files are also very important for the preview. It would be better to completely remove the feature, as it is not usable in its current state.
But you can "pin" server in the network (NET:) and they will always be shown there, It will cache it.. and you can often just access directly without scanning againAlright, this has nothing to do with the beta version, but I don't understand why the fritz-nas icon under the network icon is not working and instead a new icon has been created at the bottom. Please watch my screenshot. This has nothing to do with reachability. How does pinning work with NET:? i have no idea.
Quick searching files/folders by typing/pressing keys has stopped working in build 2962. It was working until this buildThis works for me in Build: 2962.
send list of files to clipboard and paste into notepad. and then print from that. What? My suggestion would be simply to invoke the Windows-based context menu, preferably using the context menu key on the keyboard, and then select the Print command.
It is just the beta.. ? or all version ? all folder location ?It's just the beta. I always do this when I install a new program or a update. Do you never use protected folders? Do you start your MC as Admin? My Windows account is an admin account. Maybe that's the difference.
I know what network shares are.. you talked about checking symbols and stuff..Method A and Method B works not for me, maybe you have different settings.
I have not seen any issues with accessing a network shares, uses it daily my self without any issue
Your what ?A "network share" is a shared resource, like a file or folder, made available over a network for access by other devices. It allows files to be shared and accessed remotely within a connected network.
