Icon size support for toolbars is great. But it seems that some internal icons are 16x16, so they look bad with higher size set in options. Is it planned to upgrade them for 2.6 final?

4. Language editor / Resore / Select a file to load.
If Cancel pressed in File open dialog, MC shows message that language was successfully restored. Don't know if it is actually restored.

1. Picture viewer stretch does not always work correctly (see pics)

2. Localization.

a. Explorer panel s.435 "Selection status area" is translatable, but always displayed in english.
b. List elements "Show free space", "Show used space" for free space area are untranslatable
c. "View filter", "Network" and "Network browse method" are also untranslatable.

3. It is not always possible to open folders in the list by double click

Also with drive dropdown list disabled it is inconvenient to go to ftp, net or reg. One have to type "net:", "reg:", "ftp:" in the path field. Maybe add these buttons to drive buttons panel?

Concerning .ISO, .CAB, wlx, wcx... On the one side, there are a lot of plugins, so internal TC-plugins support could make MC development easier in the future.

On the other side, implementing such support might become just a waste of time since there are already at least 2 filemanagers supporting wlx and wcx (Unreal Commander, Double Commander).

I think you may just release own plugin sdk and concentrate on other global ideas. Step by step (maybe some vote again?). From my point of view, there's no need in fourth Total Commander. IMHO it is impossible to create something truly perfect that can completely satisfy everyone.

1. File types setup.

- Press [Add]
- Type something in "Program parameters" and "File extensions"
- Press [...] to Select program
- Choose program and press OK.

Result: "Program parameters" and "File extensions" fields are cleared.

2. There are no translation strings for "Core Settings > Filesystem > Network"

IMHO there is no need at all to separate focus/select settings for different conditions.
Although i don't know how the coloring is currently handled, it seems to me that a difference can't be dramatic as long as file panel shows limited amount of files. Moreover, coloring might be cached in some way. E.g. when the items are shown in panel at first time, they are compared (with color template) and template IDs are saved in some table. Then later there would not be need in comparing.

I like how coloring is done in "alternative file manager", where color scheme is just a search template. So there's no need to separate e.g. files and folders settings - all flags (incl. system/hidden) could be chosen in template. But at least one thing could be improved: a possibility to check/uncheck color templates. So if i have 100 templates i can choose which to use for coloring because using them all could waste a lot of resources and time and make MC slow and unresponsive.

And you don't have to think about parameters a user may set. If somebody sets all colors to white and get blank panel - it's not you problem. Everyone should be careful. Moreover, it is always possible to reset settings to defaults.

P.S. I like the idea of applying font style. E.g. italic. Though the perfomance tests shoud be done

it would be nice, even if "Alternating background color" and "override standard windows background" are checked, selected files and focused files could keep their own background colors (perhaps as an option).

Look at the attached pic.

There are 2 columns. And extensions in the 2nd column aren't visible. In "other file manager" there is a solution:
when you move file cursor to the 2nd column, the first column is gone and the second takes its place. The rest files are then in the new 2nd coumn. And when you reach the last file in the directory, there will be only one column.

As i see now it is impossible to execute e.g. Edit action from a script.

Just noticed that with "Word wrap" enabled line number is showed for the each wrapping of a line.
E.g. in AkelPad and Notepad++ line number is showed only once. See pic.

Maybe it is by design but looks a little bit confusing:)

Quicklaunch bugs related to WinXP with themes disabled still remain.

1. Focus around buttons with "Allow - rearrange buttons" enabled (see pic)
2. When you move mouse to the edge of the MC window and get resize cursor, then move mouse back to Quicklaunch, cursor remains instead of becoming arrow

Some words about "Save current layout as default" action in columns popup menu.

1. If i uncheck column(s) in popup, then save as default, unchecked column(s) become checked and layout is saved with all columns. So i need to "Customize colums..." first and then save as default. Too many operations to do. I think unchecked columns should not be saved.

2. "Save as default" saves view modes separately for each panel, while colums set is one for both panels. And after saving as default columns set is immediately applied to both panels. I think that default layout should be either different for each panel or the same for both. Not mixed.

The Update program does not know about the portable mode or not. It is standalone and can be run without any other parts.

MU is a part of MC package. I suppose that all parts of a package shoud have the same run mode unless it is impossible to implement.

It does not. Normally it should not unless somethings with the settings have change.

In the about menu. It should say "Running in portable mode : yes"

MC shows "Running in portable mode : yes". I delete registry settings for multiupdate, then run multiupdate, change settings. Aftetr that registry entry appears again.

I. Language editor bug

1. Open Language editor on the one panel. Export and Restore work.
2. Open Settings page on the other panel. Export and Restore in language editor don't work.
3. Close settings page. Export and Restore in language editor still don't work until reopened.

II. MultiUpdate bug

Very often MU displays "Lost connection... Retrying..." and after few attempts nothing happens. Progress bar remains at the same position, no new "Lost connection... Retrying..." lines appear. After restart MU starts downloading from beginning and that situation may happen again.

III. Why does MU in portable mode store its settings in registry?

Maybe you disabled the other toolbars in config ?

Enabling/disabling doesn't change "View->Toolbars" menu. It has only "Command line bar" item.

Enable "Select and Unselect when navigating over files and folders". Then it seems that "Unselect other files and folders when single selecting" works even when disabled.

I expect that when disabled, file in the focus is marked as selected but all my previously selected files remain selected. But selection is cleared as soon as i move file cursor. I do it via keyboard. Behaviour is the same when option enabled.

Is it a bug or i misunderstand how it should work?

On the Language changes page there are two lines for [Application][Multi Commander (core)]:

Section M - 1203 - Missing text list of toolbars for the toolbar submenu

There is no such line in the lang file.

Section D - 1865 - Error message for Quick Launch bar

What i have now is on the attached picture.

Language editor bug.
1. Open 2 language editors (one on each panel).
2. Perform Export or Restore in one of them
3. Close that editor.

Also in localized version (at least in Russian) tab captions for settings look wrong. 'Core Settings' looks like 'Core Настройки' and the same for 'Explorer panel'. But if in the first case it can be solved by simple translating of the 'Core' word, in the second case it is harded. So maybe two independent strings could be added?

I Don't really I understand what the problem is.
Splitting up "core" and "settings" ? , If "core" and "Settings" are two string and then join them ? I don't think that is good.. because in some languages when translating the word shift places.  like it would be "settings core".

If you can not translate the word "core" maybe use an another word.   Base Settings, Main Settings, or something similar.

I mean that now i have 'Core Настройки' and 'Explorer Panel Настройки'. The first part is untranslatable. So it seems that "core" and "settings" are independent parts. And i want to have one single string "Core settings". The same applies to "Explorer panel settings".
