I mount n-in-one card readers as a volume under a drive letter such as V:\Siig_CardReader.     When I pull the SD card from the card reader the drive letter disappears from the Tree View and the top toolbar drive list.     I need to exit MC and restart it to get drive back.    Of course Windows Explorer acts correctly in this case, nothing disappears, just the "Siig_CardReader" can't be read or entered.

The behavior is similar to when I eject a DVD from a drive - the DVD drive letter goes away until I put in a new DVD.    Unfortunately the alg needs to be smarter for mounted volumes under a drive letter.

Support and Feedback / Tree View can't handle volume mount points

Less than a year ago I posted this:

It is still broken in 4.2 but the original topic is locked.

Apologies if this has already been logged, I searched and couldn't find a prior reference.

As the pictures show, I mount drives not on drive letters but on directories (Unix style).    MC appears to be a bit confused and leaves the tree view name of the directory blank.    Also, strangely enough one directory (Flash Drives) is being shown with the top level tree names (A:, C:) in place of the blanked dir names.   I use this directory as the link point for all my thumb drives media card reader mounts.

Sorry if this has already been asked/reported, I couldn't find a prior reference.

The Drives toolbar wants to locate "after" the File Commands toolbar but if there isn't enough room on the line it smartly moves to the next line.    Unfortunately when it does, it right justifies the File Commands bar.    Is there a way to avoid this?   I really want the drives toolbar on it's own line.
