    Awesome programme. It has almost replaced the windows shell. Thanks a million for coding it and maintaining it. You really must love coding and your fellowmen.

    I'm still using v5.5 (build 1975) portable version, if any of the bugs i'm reporting has already been fixed in the latest version, please let me know.

    Bugs?:
    • If I have created a used defined menu item through "user defined commands" and used it to arrange it to in a submenu along with other items using "menu customization option" and then if I delete the single menu item, the whole of the submenu along with other items also deleted.
      For eg, if create Notepad++ menu item and arranged it under user menu > Office, deleting Notepad++ menu item also deletes the whole Office submenu. The only way to avoid it is to first remove the item from the submenu and then delete it from "user defined commands"
    • "File types setup" > "Icons": treats extensions in caps and lower cases separately and I have create separate commands for each case
    • "user defined commands" > "New" > "command type" > "External" --> gives only absolute paths with no option to convert it to relative path. I can convert it to relative path manually using ${mcinstallpath} (but not ${mcpath}). Wish there is an option to do it with a button
    • This in relation to the above: If I create an item with relative path using the above method and then use it to create an icon in the quick lauch bar with "Insert User Defined Command", it does not show the original icon. I have use cutomize option to insert the path to the original exe file through the "alternate icon" option. But it does not accept relative paths whether I try ${mcinstallpath}or ${mcpath}
    • Is there any progress in making multicommander and listary to play good?

    Moving away from bugs;
    • Is there any future plan to integrate option like in sage thumbs? SageThumbs Sourceforge / SageThumbs Present page. I already use sage thumbs to preview files in explorer in thumbnails view, but it does not show up in multicommander thumbnails view
    • Is there any future plan to add context menu support ala filemenu tools? FileMenu Tools
    • Also can anybody educate me on how to change the keyboard shortcut for Tools > to clipboard > files/folders path and name? Thanks

Feature Requests and Suggestions / Forward keys to the filter bar/box
« on: September 05, 2014, 10:51:48 »
Hi,

I am using listary to filter files in other file manageres. But I find that listary and MC don't work together. In other file managers, as soon as I start typing, listary opens, receives the keystrokes and starts to show filtered results dynamically, which is very useful. Is there any chance to make them work together? If anybody is successfully using them together, I would like some pointers on that.

If not possible to make them work together, is it possible to have an option to forward keystroke to the filter bar instead of the commandline bar. Though not as powerful as listary, it would partially serve my purpose.

Thanks.

Support and Feedback / Bug in custom icons?
« on: September 01, 2014, 14:52:07 »
Hi,

Still waiting for some response to my other thread. Meanwhile I found that custom icons setup (configuration > file type setup > icons) considers extensions in caps and small letter as two separate file types (for eg, .PDF and .pdf are considered as separate file types) and icons configured for .pdf doesn't show for .PDF. I am still not sure if it is a bug or if I have missed some settings.

Hi,
Great program, slowly taking over from my other file manager (Q-Dir). I am finding new features everyday. Now for queries;
- I have supercopier as my default copier. All other file managers I have used, allows it. But when I use multicommander, it insists on using its own internal copier. Is there a setting to change this. Also on drag-drop, supercopier menu options never appear in multicommander.
- In list view, when I scroll horizontally, it skips panels in between and tries to go to the last panel and back to the first panel, so that I miss seeing the files in the middle panels. I took me sometime to understand this and gave me many anxious moments thinking that I have accidentally deleted the files in the skipped panels. (OK, seemed to have solved this. The culprit seems to the mouse scroller program "Katmouse", I have set it to scroll 3 lines per wheel scroll. But in other file managers, this never caused problems.)
- Is it possible to implement flat folder view option? Many times I would like to view combined files view in selected folders (2-5). Though I can use the find files options to view files in all the subfolders, I would like to view files only in selected folders.
- Is it possible to show the folder size, and the number of files and folders in it, automatically on selecting it? Now I find that I have to press the <space> key to show it and it shows only the folder size and not the number of files and folders within it.
- Is it possible to use the <tab> key to navigate between the 4 panes (1st tree pane -> 1st file pane -> 2nd tree pane -> 2nd file pane)?
- Is it possible to have single tree pane for both the file panes? This will increase the real estate available for the files view.

Thanks for patiently hearing my whining. Since I am still exploring the gold mine, I might have missed the already existing options. If so sorry for the unnecessary post and kindly point me in the right direction.
